So angry with Tesco right now

Just pointing out 1 thing I dont like about online shopping with tesco, because sometimes you might need to shop online.
I ordered 2 Persil 50 wash packs online for £6 each. what was delivered was a substitute of 25 washes for £6 each.
I dont understand the logic.
Would anyone buy 25 washes for £6 when the 50 washes is for £6. they could have called me but didnt. Turns out you either have it or not and it can be disabled on the site somewere0 -
For us living out in the sticks, the delivery cost is often cheaper than the cost of petrol and time to drive out and shop. It also cuts down on impulse buying and if you have small children, the incessant 'I want' that accompanies the trip.
Glad you got sorted!0 -
And the question is now that matters have been (finally) resolved where will OP do her next online shop?0

If you are on a tight budget surely you go to the shop and source "whoops" or reduced items thus saving around 25%-30%. You will also save on the delivery charge.
If you are on a tight budget you should also know that the money is reserved and that if it goes wrong this money can take days to get back in to your account.
Yes, this is true for some. However, doesn't work for all senarios. Buying in bulk saves money, but when you don't drive and have to pay for public transport (and break your arms off carrying loads of bulk items) you might as well pay for delivery, which works out cheaper. Swings and roundabouts. Plus, for example in my situation I have torn ligaments in my knee which causes me to collaspe, especially when carrying weighy items. Thus, do I take a bus and still have to carry half the way, or a taxi... or just pay for delivery? Yes, I can buy less, which I have to do sometimes, but buying little at a time generally doesn't make a saving over a whole month.
Yes, you are right, you should reserve the money. But a lot of people don't expect Tesco to fluff up that badly. Lesson learnt. But I can totally understand the OP frustration.“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” ― Albert Einstein

In n instce like this Sods Law will apply, if you have enough money in your ccount your transactions will all go smoothly, as soon as you are close to the wire somethingwill go wrong. From being on this forum I have learn it does happen.0

My Grandmother never had a car, had three children, lost her husband during the war, didn't have internet shopping and she managed (no taxis either).
Chances are your Grandmother didn't have to go to an out of town supermarket. She probably had local shops not far and had a big pram to cart stuff back home with. That's what I did with my first baby, before I learned to drive - and that was only in 1984!
If I were the OP, i'd be cheesed off as well. I might not have put the phone down but i'd still be upset. Taking 2 loads of money for one shop isn't on. I think a lot of people would struggle with that. The point is, Tesco have offered a service and haven't delivered. No use blaming the OP for not going herself.0
