Goth shops are the best - they have them (and the makeup, which is very good quality, but not so much the 'natural' look
), and they get the younger girls creeping in looking all nervous and timid of the big scary girls with blue and purple hair...then they come back a few times, then get a couple of pairs of socks or a pair of gloves, some earrings or a bracelet....and before you know it, you have a girl expressing herself
yep, Blue Banana is one of my DD's favourite shops, definitely a goth shop

Strengthening undercoats are always a good idea for any younger girl or teenager as hormonal changes in puberty can make your nails feel like paper and split.
Also as mentioned it stops nail staining, some of the colours can be a pain to get rid of otherwise.0 -
wow blast from the past!! i used to buy loads of the constance carroll flavoured roll on lip glosses. felt so grown up!VfM4meplse wrote: »This takes me back- I used to love going to the thrift shop at that age and buying Constance Carroll - luckily my tastes have improved since then! Agree with shellsuit, MUA would be a good range, Superdrug also do 2tru which costs £5 for 3 pieces. My only caveat is that I would stick to nail varnishes, pencils, lipsticks and dry powder products. I don't believe that skin make-up (ie concealers and foundations) should be used on young skins.0 -

I would recommend ELF (eyeslipface.com) really cheap and good variety as well as Boots natural collection and Superdrugs Miss Sporty and MUA.
I very much enjoyed using eyeko's fat balms at that age, but they were considerably cheaper and available in store then. Maybe some tinted moisturiser, concealer, a few mascaras (both clear and black), a cheap eyeshadow and lip pallete just to experiment and cover up any blemishes0
