We have peacock feathers too - we are using them on the tables, tucked into black napkins. I love the ideas for invites. I cheated and did them on vistaprint - but I was very pleased when they came. We did them postcard style too, so no folding involved.
I'm excited for ou, meeting the dress maker. I am sure you will get your answer to your dress dilemma tonight!

I got on great with her, it all went swimmingly
(copied from the other thread)
She was very nice and I saw some pics of her work. Very impressed!
She loved Dress 1 but said that I should work with my figure (hourglass) and that a nipped-in waist would be so much more flattering. Which I suppose is true. Dress 1 is stunning but perhaps I would feel self-conscious in it.

She LOVED the dress in the blog (Dress 2)!!! And she said that it would be fairly straightforward to make. She talked me through lots of stuff: making a cotton toile for the top half to make sure that it was exactly the right shape, getting the buttons covered in whatever fabric I wanted, what types of fabric could be used for the skirt/sash etc. She said that she would be able to start in January and have it ready by May, so that's good.
I came home feeling very optimistic, then had a moment of dread in the middle of the night, thinking - what if I have a dress made and it turns out really badly and I'm stuck with it????? Am I being daft??????

I looked, I should have resisted. I wish I had gone for a theme rather than a colour. Mind you I really can't see the OH being into a theme.
I did like the DIY idea of using a glass christmas bauble to make table decorations so will be scouring the internet for glass baubles now.
*EDIT* The dress is stunning, also wishing I had prehaps thought outside the box when it came to my dress but I AM HAPPY (trying to convince myself :rotfl:)0 -

I know, that dress really is fab! :A I love that 1920s/30s look, but am not tall and skinny enough for the dresses, so am going more 1940s/50s with a nipped in waist (and it will be nipped in as much as POSSIBLE).
