last month they delivered my parcel to Stanhill lane, I live on stanley street (which is miles away from my postcode) where I sat waiting in all day.Life is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.0

The previous comments re. effort in getting parcels delivered on time are true.
Firstly, Yodel is a new company that has inherited 2 parcel networks both with their own systems and associated problems. Add to this unprecedented parcel volumes, the need to keep cost to a minimum to ensure the company can survive and issues such as poor packaging from suppliers, incorrect address details (e.g. they receive many parcels with no house number or wrong postcodes etc.) and a shortage of drivers to complete the work.
The suggestions that other companies should take the deliveries instead is a lovely and sweet idea, but they would be able to cope even less with the millions of parcels Yodel delivers each week.
Drivers get fined for not delivering parcels on time or for leaving parcels in places where they could be easily stolen. Customers complain when parcels are left for them whilst they are not home others then complain when parcels aren't left for them. That's not the customer's fault, but it means we can't please everyone.
The other thing is that the likes of Parcelforce will only try to deliver once initially. Imagine our poor drivers going to the same security-gated block of flats 3 times knowing the customer will be out each time.
Any other suggestions?0 -
After waiting in for days for a delivery that was due on 2nd Decemeber I finally gave up last night and cancelled my order.
Amazon have been great throughout, they have been lied to from Yodel tooIf you tell the truth you don't have to remember anything. - Mark TwainNappies and government ministers need to be changed frequently and for the same reason0 -

It isn't a new company. It's just a rebranded HDNL with DHL added on, and if the senior management couldn't cope with that, they shouldn't have acquired DHL.
The problems you refer to apply to all delivery companies, and not just Yodel. The difference is that they make some attempt to deal with the issues - Yodel doesn't give a damn.
Have you ever read such total boll*cks as this:
Jonathan Smith, Yodel CEO, said “We are delighted to be unveiling this new brand, which represents our ambitions to be a truly customer focused business offering a full suite of services that others in the market cannot match. The combined business is already growing faster than the market and we are excited about our future potential.”
“The new brand aims to challenge the delivery market with an absolute focus on the customer,” the company said.
The sooner Smith goes, the better - what a total failure!0 -

Yodels own internal managament issues are not the customers problem.0 -

City Link, DO deliver Amazon parcels, as do Yodel (DHL & HDNL), DPD, Royal Mail and City Sprint0 -

How about a company culture which doesn't encourage drivers to falsify delivery records?
"Add to this unprecedented parcel volumes" ... well, stop taking on new business when you KNOW you will be letting people down with their christmas shopping. Have you no conscience?
There's no doubt in my mind that some people like DeliveryDriver works hard at his job, and achieves great results. The problem lies with quality control by senior management, and incentivisation to lie.
And as for "Mr Customer Focus", Jonathan Smith - he's so customer focussed he can't even be bothered to get his minions to field complaints from his corporate email address. Typical attitude of poor bosses of companies, he has NO interest in hearing of his company's problems whatsoever.0 -

And don't forget to add to the comments here, although polls are meant to have closed there are still comments being added and yodel is in with a fighting chance of receiving the fame they deserve.
