Can I suggest anyone who has been messed around by yodel vote for them in the daily mail wooden spoon awards for poor customer service?

Call Amazon (much more efficient than emailing, and they call you so it's free) - see my posts above...

I received an Amazon order last Wednesday but had to return it. So I arranged for Yodel to come back to the same address and collect on Thursday.

    Thursday 24th November, 6:35

    Hia,

I'm afraid no-one came to collect this package today and I've had no contact.

What happens next, please? I'm heading back to Wales for the weekend - is it appropriate to leave the parcel with one of my colleagues or would you rather come to my Welsh address?

    Dear Badger,

    Thank you for contacting Yodel.

Whichever is most convenient to you, just provide us with the full address including postcode.

    Kind regards,

In that case I'll leave it here and the driver can collect it from one of my colleagues. The address will remain the same: X Company, X Street, London X11 XXX.

    Thanks,
    Badger

So I went home for the weekend and came back on Monday:
    Monday 28th November 10:57am

I have just returned to my office in London and have been informed that, yet again, no-one came to collect the parcel.

Would you mind explaining what exactly the problem is here?

Eventually the driver did come over on Tuesday night (last night) at 6pm. I commented on this and he said, quite vaguely "oh I think I did come some time last week but it was in the evening so I thought there was no-one here." When we pressed him for a time, he said 5pm... no-one leaves this office before 5:30pm and it's rare for there to not be someone still here at 8pm. My guess is he never bothered to come round at all

I have been waiting since 19 / 11 for a small parcel from Boots which I then found out was being sent through Yodel..According to Yodel they tried to deliver it 5 times but never did supply the reason why they didn't manage it, there was no card left so I don't even know if they got here.
I do know that this area is not the easiest to find which is why I supplied my mobile number and full instructions and also advised that they could always call me and I would talk them through it, I was promised the driver would call me but never did so I am thinking they never once bothered to try to deliver it.
I checked the tracking and that was not updated and the customer service staff as next to useless and quite rude.

So I have no idea where my parcel is, if it can be delivered as I have no card or redelivery number and can't really get any sense out of any of their staff..oh and they don't reply to emails or their own customer form.

I will never use Boots online again which is a shame as it means I will probably never be able to shop at Boots again.

Boots however did give me £20 in points for all the hassle, although I am now going to struggle to use them unless I hit lucky when out and go past a Boots store.

Total waste of time and effort on all parts as surely a courier companies only duty is to deliver the thing they are paid to deliver or leave a flipping card to explain that they couldn't get anyone to sign for it..or failing that a phone call would have worked.

I will now make sure whatever I buy online is not delivered by them and if it is I will change my supplier or go without as this is more grief then it is worth and granted I will get my money back but that can take up to 7 days so I will be without my money and goods for that length of time and unable to replace them until the refund is issued.

They probably didn't even turn up, in my case the driver fabricated the delivery history. For a whole week.

Tell you what, it's going to be a bloodbath at places like amazon within the next few weeks when they miss their christmas delivery promises ... you watch this space.

Hadn't thought about Christmas ( don't celebrate it so it is easy to do) but your right, I was annoyed enough and it was only cheap stuff like toothpaste and shower gel but I would have been proper peeved had it been a gift.

What annoys me more though is not that they failed to deliver it but that they failed to either try or leave me a card / call me and just left me waiting.

  • The Amazon christmas rush started a few weeks ago, we are getting huge amounts of them through our depot.Despite gwapenuts constant sniping at how crap Yodel are, I am managing to attempt delivery of all my Amazon parcels on their due date.
BTW Yodel is currently running as more or less 2 businesses atm.A small part of what was DHL and the old HDN.There seems to be some differences between how both sides run and certainly with volumes delivered.

I am waiting for 2 parcels to be delivered. The tracking shows they have been sitting in my local depot since Monday night, with NO attempt to deliver to me.

I called the depot yesterday, and was assured they would be put onto the van today. Well, guess what? They were not, of course. So I called again today, and once again was assured they will be put onto the van tomorrow. Who wants to place bets?

They have had my parcels for 5 days now. They are an incompetent, lying, useless company.
