Suitable Reward?

I won some money:D So both sons wanted and got Iphone 4 contracts (they don't normally get outwith Birthdays and Christmas).

DS2 had his for 4 days and LOST it:eek:

Thankfully it had been dropped on the school bus, the driver had picked it up and he has it back:T

We are over the moon. Not to sure what the outcome would have been if he had not got it back, apparently they canh be zapped in some way but anyway it would have cost!

I don't want the drivers honesty to go unnoticed so...what do you think a suitable reward for the driver would be?

    A case of beer :-)
:jProud mummy to a beautiful baby girl born 22/12/11 :j
  • I think it would also be appreciated to write a letter to the manager of the bus company thanking the member of staff. It is so rare that someone takes the time to acknowledge good service but we always acknowledge the bad!!!

Son would most likely have to hand over on school bus unless I took to depot which is do able.

I was thinking money in a card but unsure of how much and it is a bit impersonable...but we don't know him and I always think money is better than vouchers although could perhaps get gift card for cinema or something?

    More ideas welcome!

to be honest i think most people would be really pleased with anything, box of chocolates, bottle of wine etc, as in all reality it is just a token of thanks and the most important thing is the acknowledgment of the person's honesty.

you could of course drop the person £20-50 to cover a meal out for the person +1 (amount depending on where you live)

anything more than this i personally think would be a bit unnessesary or over the top and could make someone feel uncomfortable for having just done something in which they would have done for anyone
    Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)

If you know who they work for the Scotgirl's letter seems the best idea (with a copy to driver) and I would also send a copy to the headmaster/mistress of the school.

Personally i'd go with the letter & a £20 gift card for Asda/Tesco, then that way if they can select whatever they want for themselves as opposed to beer or chocolate, sensible thought here but you're never sure if they're say a recovering alcoholic or a diabetic making either of those gifts potentially terribly inappropriate.

A supermarket voucher would enable the driver to pick something that he wants or needs. Accompanied by a card with a handwritten message of thanks from the child whose property the driver handed in.
I believe there's a way of registering iPones and iPads that will enable the owner to discover where they are, but do check this out.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)
