Paid Seller Via Bank Transfer - Any Comeback?

I (rather stupidly) paid a seller for some goods via Bank Transfer (I know, I know) on eBay.
Fast forward to now (roughly 2 weeks since I paid) - no contact to numerous emails / eBay messages.
Tried opening a dispute - the seller hasn't marked it as "payment received" so eBay won't open a dispute.
I've requested his contact details from eBay, will give his mobile a call tomorrow...
Any other suggestions on how to turn up the pressure?
The goods are £35, although annoyingly I've found a larger package for £30 on eBay atm

I suspect you already know the answer- no there is nothing you can do except track down the seller and be persistent in getting them to honour the deal. However if you don't get a refund or your goods make sure you leave a well worded neg to warn other buyers not to use an unsafe payment method with that seller.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Is it something they have more than one of? If so, buy a second one from a different account, pay by Paypal and open a INR on the second one.0

so you're recomending fraud. Not the most intelligent of suggestions. Nice to see your username is appropriate.No_Eye_Deer wrote: »Is it something they have more than one of? If they've not sent the first one what makes you think they'll send the second one?
Although i agree with the idea; the delivery for the second one will actually be your first purchase and your second hasn't arrived.0 -
Alas no - it was a second-hand car part from a breaker.No_Eye_Deer wrote: »Is it something they have more than one of? If so, buy a second one from a different account, pay by Paypal and open a INR on the second one.
I originally paid via PayPal, but the payment was "unclaimed" (there was no account registered to that email address) and I eventually cancelled it.Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.0 -

Send eBay a copy of the Bank Transfer and ask eBay to refund you direct for Item Not Recieved. That should get the ball going..."Money is truthful. If a person speaks of their honour, make sure they pay in cash."0 -
Have you tried tracing the dealer,as in address as a secondhand car part does not look like a scammer to me. You might just have a very slow seller. Send him a recorded letter to show you paid, it does not ring alarm bells for me.I think you will get the part.0

He answered emails promptly, right up until I told him I'd paid, and then nothing... I would be surprised if it turns up after 2 weeks.tigeress289 wrote: »Have you tried tracing the dealer,as in address as a secondhand car part does not look like a scammer to me.
