My username came about because I registered as a response to that post, in order to respond to it (not very clever of me) .. I wasn't thinking very clearly. We can all feel judged as parents and I have to admit that I'm probably over-sensitive in that respect.
I can only offer my apologies if I have upset anyone, I'm very sorry .. I was just upset by the remark and wasn't in a very good frame of mind when I posted in hindsight.
Feeling good ThumbRemote and also the people who thanked you? Shame on you all. There is a remove thanks option.0 -

Warm welcome to you.

Feeling just dandy thanks
I do love a bit of irony, and this was one of the funniest bits of irony I've seen in a while and I'm not ashamed to have found it hilarious.
Oh and just in case you need a little more clarity....
Bahaha ha it's still a hilarious as it was yesterday, Ok?

Silly teachers can leave coats behind, too, as I know to my cost!
I missed it when we were packing to go away and would need an anorak. I rushed back to school, collared the caretaker who helped me look.
It was about two years later when I spotted his wife wearing my cost! In fact, it was behind me in a post office queue at Christmas.
I had been consoling myself that , through my carelessness, someone in a local home for families had benefited. :cool:Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.

I can't even see why anyone is finding it funny.
There's a big difference between someone saying "I am black" and someone saying "a child stole my sons x, he came from a black family".
It seems perfectly reasonable to me that you would adopt a label that indicated why you had particular reason to find the association in the post objectionable. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

Thank you for understanding! That was exactly my point. I wish I'd never commented though if I'm honest, as I do feel hurt by some people's reactions.
I don't expect the lady who posted the original comment meant any harm by it, but I think you understand why I found the comment distressing.0 -

See heres the thing, I was a single Mum once upon a time. Didn't distress me one iota.
If off the cuff remarks by strangers on the internet distress you then I do think you either need to toughen up or avoid forums.0
