Another Parking Eye Fine!

hi all

i know this has been talked about so many times on here and around the web, its just one of them things still sitting in the back of my head not wanting the situation to get worse.

so here goes, last monday (bank holiday) i took a trip with my girlfriend to blackpool, after searching for a good 20 minutes trying to find a parking space.. i found one! adelaide street car park at the back of the tower.

i parked up, went to the ticket machine paid £3 got my ticket at 13:48, the ticket lasted till 17:48

after a good few hours walk around and £70 spent in the shops, i return to my car at 17:06 and exit the car park.

what i though was a great time we had and enjoyed the rest of the weekend, only to return home from work with a parking charge notice sitting on the floor from PARKING EYE! the letter had a 2 pictures of my car arriving and leaving stating that i had not purchased a ticket! knowning i had i went to my car unsure if i still had the ticket which to my joy i did!

so now i want to know if i should just not contact them at all or send them just a photocopy of my ticket and what will come of it if i do either?

hope someone can help me out i really dont want to be having to pay out money for something i have not done.i have a picture of the fine and my ticket if someone asks to see it. sorry for the essay lol

thank you for reading :)

Do nothing at all, if you have read the top sticky threads on this sub-forum by Crabman - and seen the Watchdog video linked there - you would surely not be still wondering whether to write?

IGNORE MEANS IGNORE, nothing will happen. Look at other threads here today alone about Parking Eye...

...there are 4 or 5 new entries and I think one of them tried to 'appeal' (AS IF!!!). They got an extra letter, 'appeal refused' of course.

Is that what you want, an extra letter? I think you will get fed up of the letter-chain after a while and realise that whatever you do is pointless. Except - you could COMPLAIN to the retailer and tell them that harassment by Parking Eye has meant you will never shop there again.

  • Just ignore them and laugh at their silly little scamming letters.
Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!

Put the ticket in a very safe place and totally ignore all the fake letters from fake solicitors and fake debt collectors and in the less than 1 in 50 million chance you ever get stamped papers from court, submit a copy of the ticket as defence and put in a counter claim for generous expenses and harassment.

But this is NOT an 'official thing' and it's nothing like a Council Parking Ticket (even though the PPC pretends it is).

Who cares what they say? They are just a private parking company (scammers the lot of them). You do not have to cover your back any more than you would if you were getting unwelcome phishing emails! Start ignoring them, you will feel quite powerful when you get each letter and actually laugh at them because you knew what was coming next!

It is not a fine, they cannot fine anyone, the scam relies on people THINKING it is a fine

The problem with Parking Spy is you would expect if you produced the ticket they would say sorry our mistake the charge is cancelled! If you wrote and sent a copy of the ticket, they will dream up some reason your appeal was unsuccessful.

Although its tempting to write knowing you are in the right, ignoring them is the way to deal with them. Just keep the ticket safe.

Just being curious here, but how exactly do PE determine whether(or not) a ticket has been purchased at this car park.
A Parking Charge Notice received by post would suggest that no attendant is on site otherwise such notice could have been affixed to the windscreen at the time.
Is this a private P&D car park where the VRM of the vehicle is required to be inputted?

I take it then that when you purchased your ticket (from a P&D machine?) you were NOT required to input your vehicle registration number.

This is beginning to smack of possible criminal conduct (allegedly) on the part of PE.

Assuming this is NOT a Council car-park, I wholeheartedly second the advice already given to IGNORE these jesters completely.
Do keep that ticket very safe though.
