OK I've been spurred on to start some blackberry whiskey.
Can someone point me in the direction of a recipe using rum? I've got most of a bottle here, and I'd be happy to add it to 'christmas' use.
Some sort of spiced rum maybe? Or a different fruit?

I'd go for making a morgans spicey type rum, or maybe licorice?Trying very hard to be frugal and OS - just plodding on and doing my best!

Christmas Veg- maybe my favorite bit so I try to be as fancy as I can- Parmesan coated parsnips (preped in advance and cooked from frozen) ,peas cooked with onions and lettuce , carrots in orange, red cabbage ( cooked ready to put back in the oven on the day) Brussels with chestnuts, and of course Goose fat roast potatoes
On Boxing day we go with green beans in garlic and tomato, mashed swede and cauliflower cheese and mashed potato this time.
Well that is what I did last year0 -
Christmas veg for us is:Roast potatoes (in goose fat) mashed potatoes, carrots, sprouts and the fullassortment of "man veg". Pigs in blankets, stuffing, Yorkshire puddings.
We tend to have the full works at least 4 times over the Xmas period with the various family members we go visiting0 -
I`m blimmin shattered, back ache, hip ache, knee ache, ankle ache. Costco was good as usual and their christmas stuff is out. I did have a toddler toy on my list but no way am I paying £30, prices have def gone up all round. I bought 4 trays of meat and don`t know how the heck I have re packed it in the freezer. I did vacuum pack it as I wanted it flatter. Nice feeling though, knowing that all the meat is in for winter and I am not thinking turkey yet. I`ve just been hanging (almost) backwards on the inverter, which makes me grow a few inches as I straighten out. That is my desert island choice. I don`t need it most of the time but it is such a great bit of equipment when I feel compressed
Broccoli planted and looks good in its cage. Tbh I too am looking forward to winter, at least the putting my feet up aspect. All the preserving and sorting for winter has been very very tiring. I must get back into my hobbies soon or I`ll turn into computer square eyes0 -
