I am new to MSE and did not realise it was full of so many bitter and sarcastic people. I was simply asking for advice. If you don't have any to give why do you feel the pressing need to comment?
Reading the comments on here, I agree with you that some people on here are petty and indeed get off on someone else's misfortune. Pay no attention, and I hope you get it all sorted.0 -
@Alisha2008 - that comment was not aimed at you. You're right, it is a lesson learned and I will be much more careful next time.0

Have you booked replacement flights? When I was looking recently, flying British Airways to London City, and Air Europa to Gatwick, were both very good prices, not much more than Ryanair (£65 one way). Don't always assume Easyjet or Ryanair are the cheapest
Alternatively, if you are stranded, look into train or ferry travel. https://www.seat61.com says that a night train to Paris + Eurostar can be had from £103 each way.

This was back in July
And of course you Bob have never made a mistake, oh wait you have, would have been a good idea to read the whole thread before jumping in with both feet, you know the post by the OP saying that her friend made the booking on her card.
It's no wonder some people give up on this forum before they even get their feet wet.The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
@signol - Yes unfortunately already rebooked in a panic. Thanks for the tips anyway - will remember for future occasions!0
