Ebay charged me incorrectly and now banned what do I do?

Options
A while ago ebay overcharged me on my monthly fees. 1 item the buyer became really abusive when I didn't do what he wanted me to do so I refused to sell to him. Reported to ebay they didn't see a problem and refused to remove the sellers fee (£17.21). When I cancelled my paypal so that they couldn't take the money they did agree to remove it (£17.20) and the other item the original buyer just simply didn't pay up despite me sending numerous emails and reporting to ebay as non payer so that was sold to the 2nd bidder. However ebay are still trying to charge me for this (£2.00) so there is outstanding chrges of £2.01.

I've emailed ebay about it numerous times telling them their mistake and why I souldn't be being charged. They don't seem to understand though and just send me links to their sellers charges.

So now I'm banned from ebay for not paying these fees how on earth do I get them to take them off? I have items I want to sell and while DH does have an account it's never been used so has no feedback whereas mine has quite a lot, all positive (apart from the abusive idiot) so really feel we'd be better off using my account to sell.

Any advice woud be greatly appreciated, thanks.

For the sake of 2 quid, pay up and forget about it. It's prob already cost you more than that in time on the numerous emails etc.

Did you actually open a non paying bidder dispute or just rant at ebay? If you didn't follow the procedures you owe the money. Cancelling your paypal just made you look dodgy.

If you didn't go through the full NPB process before offering a 2nd chance offer, then it would appear to ebay you sold two of the same item. Therefore owing two FVF's.
Best if you pay up, or complete the NPB process if it's not too late, you do however run the risk that the first buyer will now pay & you won't have the item to sell.
However holding ebay to ransom, by removing your paypal is just plain daft if you want to continue using them.
I expect ebay are thinking that you are more trouble than you're worth, you sell something & then choose to not proceed with the sale but expect ebay to waive their fees.
If they've banned you, and on here we hear of people being banned for reasons not of their own making, then if you start using your husbands account & it's discovered that account will probably be suspended as well.
Maybe call customer services & ask if you pay the £2.01 owing if they'll lift the ban.

Why should I have to pay £2 that I don't owe. Yes it's 'only' £2 but I think a massive profit making company can afford to forget that £2, esp as they're in the wrong not me. It's the principal and I'll damn well stick to it :p.

Tbh I don't want to use ebay and put more money into their pockets but there's not much other choice for selling items. Gumtree just seems to asttract people who want something for nothing.

I have no idea. Not familiar with ebay complaint procedures. I seem to remember them saying something along the lines of because the winning bidder didn't reply then there was nothing they could do and therefore I was still liable.

You've just answered your own question. You should pay it as ebya own the market place and you can list on the account with good feedback and established selling history, all of which increase sales/prices. Or dig your heels in and go round in circles.....

If you didn't close the dispute properly or closed it after the buyer paid - and to be frank you should really familiarise yourself with the NPB and other eBay processes, ignorance is no real excuse when money is at stake - then yes, you are still liable for the fees.

Are you saying that you refused to sell to the buyer once they'd paid after you had gone down the NPB route? If you refuse their payment eBay will not credit you the fees, since the buyer actually has paid.

Just like you can demand to be paid, a buyer who pays can demand that you send the item and launch a non-performing seller dispute against you. If the buyer was threatening feedback extortion they can be reported. What was the nature of the problem? Did they try feedback extortion (ie. threatening a neg if you didn't do something not listed on the auction, e.g. sending a freebie or refunding them without a return)?

If they don't reply then you close it & the FVF gets credited to your account.
You should familiarise yourself with their procedures, not tell ebay that they've done something wrong, when you look as though you failed to read all the info given in their help section.
