I dunno if this will help but i had a problem with a group on deal and emailed them no reply. So i posted on their facebook wall and it got sorted quickly. It might be worth finding your local facebook page for them or their national page. I went through the oxford one. They don't like anything negative on their walls methinks. This was last week.
  • Good idea!
  • Update: They finally wrote me back today to acknowledge my cancellation and say I'll be reimbursed within 5 days. They went to the trouble of telling me the vendor had been notified of bad / duplicate codes going out, but not much of an apology for my trouble.

As someone above said, if it seems too good to be true, sometimes it really is!
  • I would like to let people know of our experience of Groupon and the elusive matress toppers!

We ordered our topper on the 15th August, it still hasn't arrived. We kept allowing for extra time for them to deliver it because we have read previously about these kinds of delays when deals are so good, such as the Ocado free delivery one a while ago which they were unable to achieve due to volumes of orders.
Then we searched online to see if others have had similar issues. And found this thread.

I have been a frequent and long-term user of Groupon for almost a year now. This is our first problem deal.
We have bought hotel stays, all of which were above and beyond our expectations of a "mere groupon" purchase. We have had days out and meals and never had any problems. I even bought some shoes, which although were very cheaply made, they still arrived only 3 days late. I assumed because of the bank holiday. Perhaps this is why we have given the matress topper so much time to arrive. We trust Groupon to deliver the deals they sell us.
I am disappointed that so many people blame Groupon for this problem. They do not hold the stock, nor do they employ the delivery van drivers. It is down to the companies providing the deal. Groupon only advertises it. And as far as they are concerned, the companies are offering legitimate deals. I presume they backcheck the offers before putting them out to the public but I don't know. All I know is, I will continue to use them and recommend them to my friends.

We have phoned the 0800 number provided on the uk-bedding website, and got through to a woman who said due to mass volumes of orders, it will be closer to 28 days delivery. We are pretty much there already, but will give them the benefit of the doubt for now.

Will let you lot know if we receive the topper or not! Fingers crossed, because our current matress is completely had it!

(I don't work for Groupon or anything, I just wanted to share our experience because we have had some fantastic days out that we otherwise would not have afforded and I want others to get some good deals too)

An update on my quest for my topper! Rang Sleep Ltd yesterday (I think, may have been the day before) to enquire about the order and had my details taken as seems to be par for the course. However, today I received an email from them asking to confirm my delivery details as they were incorrect (they definitely werent!). It contained a link to confirm through an online form and after doing so the automated message said my goods would be dispatched within 48 hours.

A colleague of mine who actually ordered after me has already received his topper so it does look like they are being sent out, I just think UK bedding had no idea what the demand would be and just havent been able to cope!

So where does blame lie? Difficult to say, on the one hand its up to Sleep Ltd/Uk Bedding to fulfill the orders, but equally GroupOn should be doing more to ensure that service is upheld because ultimately it's their brand getting devalued too. If there are any GroupOn reps reading this, I'd love to hear what you guys are doing to stop this from happening in the future. You do take the money after all! Or maybe the friendly, light-hearted approach to your product descriptions extends right through to the care-free management of your business... then again you may just be a bunch of fat cats sitting on a load of cash like most successful businesses.

Haha! Listen to me, I sound like a right socialist... :p Point still stands though. Rant over.
  • Unfortunately I never even got to that stage... Groupon did not even offer to send me a voucher code that actually *worked* after fussing and fretting for over a week as to what was going on :D

Good luck to the rest of you waiting for these to show up.

I Could not take anymore being fobbed off by SN
I posted earlier about the memory foam topper and 5 weeks of waiting I decided to cancel the order.

Many many problems with Customer Service and when I did finally get through to them they told me they did not have my address, then did not have my email address etc, eventually I telephoned them about 9 times and this is the worst customer Service I have ever recieved.

I had been in contact with Groupon and eventually said Cancel my order which they did. I do not have a problem with Groupon, Silent Night is the problem and I will never buy from Silent night again.

    ;)

  • Well, I've been chasing my elusive mattress topper now for almost six weeks!

After calling them several times and being promised each time that someone would call me back (they NEVER did) I finally got a tracking number for my topper... turns out it had been delivered a couple of weeks ago.

So I rang parcelforce to complain that I hadn't received it even though it had been 'delivered' - turns out that UK-Bedding has given them the wrong address and has posted it to the wrong blummin house!!!

So I've asked for a refund (no joy on that account), asked for a new topper (in the process talked to the most unhelpful assistant to date) and I am FED UP!

    NEVER use UK BEDDING!!!!!!
  • Just to add insult to injury (and im a lucky one who did actually recieve my mattress topper) these are now on sale in Home Bargains for £49.99 for the super king size variety - i cant post the link as im a new user, but go to the Home Bargains website and search for memory foam, you will see the impress topper there for 49.99
    grrrrr!
  • I'm stuck with the "invalid code" - Groupon said it would be activated within 72 hours but it hasn't :(

Please can any one who actually received one confirm if they are the 5cm deep ones or the 2.5cm deep ones as there is quite a difference in price for the two. Thanks.
