    I don't think 40 euros a year is expensive!

It is when I offer double that for half the price!

  • Some nice information here, and lots of people really knowing their stuff, refreshing to see.

A few years ago I found it was very easy to make money with the various Google programmes, but like some of you I found that the revenue just started to tail off.

I then went down the affiliate marketing line, and tried to have a relevant banner on each page. To be honest it was a nightmare. I have over 20 websites to sort through, and when I look at the time I spent and what I earned I could cry lol ;(

Recently I have been using the Ehalos search engine partnership programme and have had good success with it. It is a bit different than the google programmes and by no means is it perfect either. However, with it you get paid 25% of the revenue spend of a new advertiser, for the life of that account.

For example one of my sites I use it on has about 7,000 uniques a month, from it I have got 11 sign ups in 3 months and I am currently earning just under £100 a month.
Ok if I get no more sign ups ever from that site and as long as those 11 people just keep paying the same each month to Ehalos my earnings will still be coming in.

I have developed a good advertising strategy on my sites, (after a lot of failings) as generally people don’t want to miss out on the “next big thing” I have found the Ehalos programme to be quite easy.

Ehalos does have a few downsides though, currently the only currency they operate in is dollars and they are still in that infancy phase so some business are a bit wary of them. Also you can only join their voucher distributor programme if you are a webhosting provider.

I tried to keep it short (not sure if i have succeeded) , but feel free to ask me any questions ;)

Hi, I'm going to ask you questions in a list style if thats OK.

    1. The money you made a few years back, was that Google Adsense?

    2. Are you limited to how many Aadsense banners you have on ONE website?

    3. What sort of income PER MONTH do you make from Adsense on EACH website?

    4. How many unique visits do get each month on ONE website and what income does that generate ?

    5. 50,000 visits per month to your ONE website (as it is today - not before whne it was busier) - how much money would you receive from Adsense?

    6. For the affiliate advertising, do you make money PER VIST or PER CLICK or PER BOOKING?

    7. Do you make money from affiliate advertisers just by having them advertise on your website even if they receive no clicks etc?

    9. How many affiliate adverts are viable on one website?

    10. What sort of percentage do you earn from each booking made/item bought on an affiliate advert?

    11. Can you have a page on your website listing all the affiliate adverts so as not to overcrowd the main website? If say you wanted to list 100 hotels on a separate page, could you do that and would you need to list the hotels free and just take a percentage if a booking was made? What sort of percentage can you ask for?

    12. The Ehalos sounds good. Does the advertiser pay you EACH month even if they get no bookings through your site or no bought items? Do you list them in a directory or are they in banners?

    13. The more visits you have per month - does that mean you earn more money with Ehalos? Or do you just get just under £10 per month from each advertiser regardless of how many visits you have?

    14. Last one! When you say you can only join if you are a webhosting provider, does that mean I couldn't join? I want to start a website but I'm not a hosting provider - so how do you get on it?

    Thanks for reading!
  • Sure ask anything, this is why we are here to help each other.

    1. The money you made a few years back, was that Google Adsense? Yes

    2. Are you limited to how many Aadsense banners you have on ONE website?
There is a lot of confusion about this all over the net, generally you are allowed a maximum of 3 AD UNITS on each page. Although you will see some bigger sites having many more.

    3. What sort of income PER MONTH do you make from Adsense on EACH website?
The income from the sites varied a lot, and to be honest I gave up trying to work out why. Some months I would over £120 form a site and then the following month would make only £40. In general I found adsense to be a very unreliable source of income.

    4. How many unique visits do get each month on ONE website and what income does that generate ? Ok the last time I used adsense was over a year ago, and on a site of around 4000 unique users a month, paid as follow Jan2010 – £ 8.48 Feb2010- £4.29 March 2010 - £5.47 April 2010 - £5.31 May 2010- £3.26.

    5. 50,000 visits per month to your ONE website (as it is today - not before whne it was busier) - how much money would you receive from Adsense?
I personally have never used adsense for a site of 50,000 unique visitors per month.

    6. For the affiliate advertising, do you make money PER VIST or PER CLICK or PER BOOKING?
Cost Per Action (CPA) will always pay you more although you might go for some time with no earnings. I favour this model though, as usually over the year it will pay the most.

    7. Do you make money from affiliate advertisers just by having them advertise on your website even if they receive no clicks etc?
I have tried “Renting Space” on a page before, but unless you got a lot of traffic advertisers are just not interested.

    9. How many affiliate adverts are viable on one website?
I personally would never have more than 3 banner adverts on a single page, (top, bottom and one on a side). You don’t want your site to look like a walking billboard. ;)

    10. What sort of percentage do you earn from each booking made/item bought on an affiliate advert?
This depends quite a lot on what you are selling, some of the gambling affiliate schemes will pay quite a lot.

    11. Can you have a page on your website listing all the affiliate adverts so as not to overcrowd the main website? If say you wanted to list 100 hotels on a separate page, could you do that and would you need to list the hotels free and just take a percentage if a booking was made? What sort of percentage can you ask for?
This could be a good money earner for you. I would ring the hotels first though and tell them you are setting up a site and ask them if they would like to be on it. I would explain to them that there is no charge to be listed on the site, but if a booking is made from your site you will invoice them for 10% of the booking amount.

    12. The Ehalos sounds good. Does the advertiser pay you EACH month even if they get no bookings through your site or no bought items? Do you list them in a directory or are they in banners?

I use two Ehalos banners one on the top and the other on the bottom of the page. Basically the Ehalos scheme is a Cost Per Action (CPA) programme, with a trail commission.

    13. The more visits you have per month - does that mean you earn more money with Ehalos? Or do you just get just under £10 per month from each advertiser regardless of how many visits you have?

Yeah the traffic to my site does not matter, I could shut my site down and still receive an income from Ehalos as I have already referred the work to them. As long as the advertiser keep paying them I keep earning.

    14. Last one! When you say you can only join if you are a webhosting provider, does that mean I couldn't join? I want to start a website but I'm not a hosting provider - so how do you get on it?

Ok Ehalos run a programme which everyone can join. Me, you or any other website.

However you are a webhosting provider eg hostgator, heartinternet etc you can apply to also give away Ehalos Pay Per Click (PPC) vouchers. These vouchers give new advertisers a bonus when they open a new account. So everytime a voucher is used on a new account the webhosting provider will earn some money. This is maybe the easiest way to make money online, earn an income from giving away vouchers lol ;)
Think maybe I need to relook at setting up my own web hosting company lol ;)

Just ask again, if anything not clear or PM if you would prefer.

    Take care and speak soon.
