  • I had a buyer who asked about how much to expect for heating, electricity bills ect. Then he asked me how much the phone bill would be.......he seemed a bit puzzled when I told him it really depends on how much you use the phone!

I'm renting out a room, and have had so many messages asking 'is there a double bed?'

So, is there a double bed, or not?
  • When I sold my house last year a viewer asked me to print her a map of the house with all of the nearest churches, doctors surgeries, post boxes, bus routes, pubs and supermarkets marked. I wouldn't have minded but she said she didn't want to waste her printer ink doing it herself! Same buyer also asked if I could hear the neighbours "getting jiggy with it" and told me off for having too much furniture!

What's the dumbest thing a seller has said to you when showing you around their house?

As soon as I walked through the door - "if the price is too high I can drop it". Not a good negotiating tactic when he was already £12K less than the identical house two doors down. I didn't buy in the end as it was too small.
  • A lady who viewed my house commented on the lovely original features, she said how nice the Victorian fireplaces were and how much she loved the deep skirting boards etc...
Her final question was "are the dildo rails original?"

    I kept a straight face,unfortunately the husband didn't!

Oh my God! This has had me in hysterics!!! HOW FUNNY!!!! DILDO RAILS!! LMFAO!!:rotfl:

I've got 2 cats and was also asked if there was a problem with mice in the garden or kitchen. They'd also had them before - I suppose once you've suffered with something, it'll be the first thing you consider!

I've also had questions about off street parking when I lived in a terrace with a small front garden (not enough to park on!) and definitely no mention of it on the details, had a near on argument with some bloke about price, had ridiculous questions as to whether I'm including worktops (or kitchen cupboards, or both, I forget...), windows, asked me if I'll board out the loft (erm, that'll be 'no'), ... honestly, the list is endless. There are some bizarre folk out there! Oh, and the amount of people I had round in my last 2 houses (both 2 beds) who seemed disappointed to find out there's not a 3rd bedroom. ARGHHHH! READ THE BLOODY DETAILS!

    Loving missblonde's, btw ;)

  • 'Houses always look better without any furniture in, don't you think?'

    Hmmmmm....or:

'Don't worry about that big crack [in the wall] - it was just my husband getting carried away with his karaoke in the attic'.
