    ((((beth and DD))))

Horrible day here, very wintery :( rainy and extremely windy. The wind kept me up last night too.

Good day work wise, kids cleaned up our log cabin. Also booked the work's Xmas do, we are going on a Friday pm so needed to get in quick! Going for lunch at a posh golf club.

Just spoke to my old schoolfriend (the one who used to live with flatmate) as she had interview with my work today, and she got the job :j. It's same job role as me, but is only for a year and it's based in the Valleys (bout 45mins away) so we won't be working together much. Still great news, and nice to have another female on board! She has wanted this type of job for 2 years.

Flatmate is staying at hers parents this week as they are away and she is dog/cat-sitting, so I'm all alone!

OS wise - mmmm something from freezer for tea, and need to make lunch for tomorrow.

    Have a good evening all

  • ps Just booked my train travel to/from airport for my hols and can't believe the difference in prices. If I just booked Swansea to Heathrow it would have been £96 return , this goes via Paddington. So as a good MSE'r I looked at split ticketing etc, and have just booked Swansea to Paddington for £36 return :D tube will cost me under £10 to the airport, or I can get the Connect for £17 return or Express for £32. So even if I go for the most expensive option I've still saved £28 on the original train fare, how is that allowed?!

Also, I booked via redspottedhanky as I had already banked the £10 free voucher offered to MSEr's last week, I then used £10 of my Tesco Clubcard vouchers to get £30 of credit, so all in all it's 'free'

  • I just don't understand the train pricing system at all flutterbyuk25. I've just booked the train and the hotel for our next IVF trip at the end of November and managed to get the £11.50 single tickets for each of us - so that works out at £23 each rtn.....Got a good deal on the hotel as well so it works out at about £250 for the trip - considering we're having a weekend window shopping in London that's not bad - okay I "may" go into Fortnums for some Christmas treat goodies...;).....meals we'll take as many vouchers off Martin's e-mail as we can carry LOL!
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D
  • Just got in from Dds and steak is cooking gently I shall have this with mushrooms and maybe a jacket spud Found this bit of steak when I was foraging in the freezer this morning.Ben gorgeous DGS got his reults for his GCSE's that he forgot to get because he was on holiday and bless him he has got 5 'b's this year and has another 5 to sit next year .he is allowed to take half of them early as it eases pressure on the youngsters when revising He has got all of his sciences which he wanted badly as his aim is to join the Royal Engineers at 18 and train as a bomb disposal officer (frighening thought but its what he has had in mind since he was about 10) Mikey loved Juniors as did his brother Henry and Jack thought his new school was'cool' which I think means he likes it.So all in all the boys are all happy to be back to school.
Right I'm off to look at my steak have a good evening

    Evening all,
Not had time to post today, Blood test went ok, nearly an armfull . DD's OH took her home this am. She is fine, they kept her in because she banged her head and had a headache, nothing broken except her car. She recognised the yob who smashed into her, he was in the local paper a few weeks ago for DDriving so she knew he couldn't have insurance. Hope they throw the book at him.

Got home after seeing her and managed to get the beds stripped, remade and wm going full flow. DH wanted another R Beef dinner so I'm glad I made enough for 2 days. I had some hm fish pie it was lovely, please note DONNY GAL :D
Need to say a big thank you to (queue drum roll)

I think it's just because the sausages (toads) look out of the "holes" that they sit in, in the batter. :o

Mr LW always refers to it as "Sausage Toad".:D

:DAccording to wikki toad in the hole is named after the fact that it looks like a toad poking its head out of a hole (!). All I know is that it tastes nice
