Morning all who have posted, all who cross and follow.

Well I have been up since 3.55am:eek: woke up with an itchy eye so thought I would come down and take a tablet to try and stop the itching, but while I was down here I thought I would get a load of washing on and generally tidy up while I wait for my tea to brew and then DH come downstairs too so as I was wide awake I thought I would stay up too. I just know its going to bite me on the bum later as I'm starting to feel tired again!

Jobs today include more washing, although its now only bedding left, and ironing plus the usual dailies.

Dinner tonight will be toad in the hole but I need to go get some eggs for the yorkshire batter. I think if the rain holds off I might go into town with the kiddies and get some bits and I might even treat myself with my birthday money before it gets flitted away! Also need to post an amazon order which was ordered whilst I was away :o

Right time to get off my toosh and get showered and dressed

hugs and spoons to all in need

Morning everyone. Beth - thinking of you and your DD today.

It's a beautiful day here, so far. I have loads of towels and teatowels to go out on the line so I hope it stays like this. Yesterday started out the same but we ended up with two torrential showers by the afternoon!

I'm thinking of all those little ones (and not so little) who are back at school today, especially those who are just starting school for the first time, and those who, like my DGS, are moving up to 'big' school. Thinking of their parents, too; it's a big day for everyone. I hope the first day back is a brilliant one!

Today I have paperwork and a mountain of filing to get through. I hate the filing bit but it has to be done before it gets out of hand; then I'll be able to see the top of my desk again!

Dinner is going to be lovely chilli pork burgers from our local farm, with Huge FW's recipe homemade oven chips, eggs, also from the farm, and big beef tomatoes baked with garlic and herbs. Pudding will be yet more of the peaches from the tree in the garden. We've eaten loads and given loads away and there's still more on the tree!

Well, I can hear the kettle playing my tune so I'm off for a cuppa!

    Have a good day, everyone.

    Good morning all

Well, we survived the day at the Polo, and it was a NSD to boot (even though we used a lot of petrol to get there) - we took a picnic and had complimentary afternoon tea and cakes later on. The DDs behaved well - one mini-tantrum from little DD (3yrs) late afternoon, but she was very tired and conked out as soon as we got in the car.

I have booked an extra day's holiday for today to get ready for the big return to school tomorrow. I think we're just about ready. I have a friend calling round shortly with her DDs so we'll either stay in and have coffee and HM cake (blueberry muffins with blueberries from the garden), or head out to the park (or possibly both).

BM, DW and WM on - as usual - but it's a sunny day here so hopefully I'll get some stuff dry too! On the OS front, once I've got the house sorted and worked through my ironing mountain, I'm going to dig out my sewing box. I started an embroidery sampler a good few years ago and I'd really like to get it finished this year.

Once that's done I shall move on to my next project - a knitted tea cosy! My mum has lent me a 1940s pattern that belonged to her mum - so very much back in vogue again these days! Mind you, it will probably be out of fashion again by the time I finish it...:rotfl:

Dinner tonight will be roast chicken (the Sunday roast I didn't make yesterday), and I shall probably make a plum crumble in an attempt to use up some of the squashy plums left from FIL coming over on Friday.

I'll also have to find time today to catch up with the all the posts - in the meantime big hugs to those in need.

    morning everyone!
well it's first day of term for miniflib. she got up nicely, ate breakie well, got dressed and then within 10 mins of being dressed she had got flour on her... when I asked hubby yesterday to shake my kitchen stool off for me, he didn't. so... miniflib climbed on it to reach her juice mug and whoopsie. that came off easily thankfully. THEN she got an unidentified stain down one sleeve of her t shirt that wouldn't sponge out so had to go get another from the drawer  . oh well! hey, at least she didn't complain about having to have her hair up and have teatree spray on it (pre-term-start nit warning from another mum, she's treating naturally by combing every evening).
lunch was made, bag was packed, PE kit and and summer project were loaded onto my wheely shopping box, and off we went! :rotfl:

nobody in school mentioned her home made school skirt, so it must have been done well enough for nobody to notice! yay me!

dinner tonight will be "bendyveg" soup as the shopping is coming tomorrow and the fridge needs cleaning out. might make some rolls if I can be bothered or if I get bored with the lack of child company.

wondering if it's worth playing "laundry chicken" again with the changeable weather, or should I just use the dryer today?
  • Morning my lovelies :D

Quick one from me. Promised DS a baking day today, stuff for lunch boxes etc. It's his last day before school tomorrow :( Am really gonna miss him. DD doesn't start nursery for another couple of week. Anyway can't sit about moping.
Weather bit hit and miss hence the stay at home day today. Tired as cat was trying to smother me last night at 3.30am  Not sure what's for tea, need to sort that out. Got to empty SC of stock I made overnight. Fancy making some soup, chilly morning here Autumn has definately landed :T

JackieG - Hugs for you lovey xxx

Beth - Hope your DD is OK and hope blood test goes OK xxx

Hugs and spoons all round. Have a good day OS or not.

  • Morning All

Didn't manage to get on yesterday because we were plastering the utility room and then everything had to go back in, apart from the cupboards which were all damp so we have had to throw them. We didn't finish untill gone 11pm, .
We have put the dehumidifier in there and hopefully it will help to dry out the plaster so that we can paint soon.

So I have just heard about Bee's DD ((((((Hugs))))) to them both x

I am another who has taken a chance on doing some washing. We had torrential rain here until 4.30pm yesterday.

    esmf :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:love that poem

Our schools go back tomorrow so that means DH will be back to his normal double shift, it will be nice because even though it has been lovely having him at work all day, it will be nice that we can go out during the day.

DS starts college on 15th September and DD is going back to college as well and her course starts in October, but she is keeping her evening job because she and her BF want to get a flat. They have seen one for £375 a month -that is over £125 more than our mortgage
I don't think that they can afford it but they seem determined and if it goes t*ts up she can always come home.

I have a few more innocent smoothie hats to make - I have made 20 so far. They don't take long to knit up and it is for a good cause (Age UK) and it will give me a chance to get my energy back after the last week.

Catch up later (((((((Hugs)))))) to all who need one x

  • Morning!!!
Well, dd went back to school today looking smart in her new uniform bits (less than £10 spent at Mr T for the lot!!) not new shoes though - she conned Nanny into buying her Lelli Kellis a few months ago - at £50 she will be wearing them until they fall off her feet!!! All the nerves disappeared as soon as she saw her friends and she went in skipping and laughing :)

Been chasing up about my new job today (won't go into detail here or I'll bore you but my work circumstances have changed over the summer - it's in the getting to know you thread if anyone's nosey ;) ) references are in, so been collecting all the necessary ID together and popping down in a bit to apply for crb (that's £50 I could do without spending, but hey ho, gotta be done)

After that it'll be washing etc and lunch, then maybe a trip to the park with ds before we get dd from school - fish pie for dinner, might whip up a nice pud for my big year 2 schoolgirl!!!
