esmf loved the poem
:):)
well my youngest DGS Mikey moved up to the juniors, and he went in full of smiles and was pleased to be going back to school and seeing all his pals.DGS Jack (11) trotted off to 'Big school Seniors' with a pal as well this morning.DGS Ben (15) went off with a 'whatever ' very blase as he is now in what I know as the fifth form.
Henry aged 10 also couldn't wait to get to school as he is now in year 6 and will next year join his brother at seniors .Katie the eldest is in full time work at the nursery and loves every minute of it .They are all growing up so fast.
I now have a few hours to go and have a coffee and then maybe a wander around the local presinct for a bit of window shopping. I have a five pound WH Smith gift voucher so I may have a look and see what bargain books they have on offer.Seems weird not having a tribe of children around, nice ,but still a bit weird.Hope everyone is enjoying the late Indian summer as its a loveley drying day here in north Kent and the sun is beautiful at the moment .I have one of the boys rucksacks in the washing machine at the moment with a couple of pairs of trainers so I will get them on the line shortly and then after my coffee will toddle of to the shops have a great day whatever you are doing and the Mums who are in floods of tears as their little ones have gone to school think of how excited they will be to tell you how they got on this afternoon
Cheers chums

Good day to you all
İ hope everyone who needs good wishes get the breaks they deserve!
Today is DH's 40th but she seems buried in work and retisant to celebrate. İ offered to take her to the jewelery shop but she still prefers 'time-tabling'!! We will go out as a family tonight to our favourite restaurant for definate.
Today is the first day of work after the long summer holiday coupled with the ramadam period but the city seems quite quiet-a few parents have rung in but according to my DH's timetabling its going to be a busy year for all of us-Cant wait!!!
weather is still hot and sunny with temps around 32 max but there is a nice sea breeze-schools go back on the 19th sept and our first week will be about the beginning of October so i hope things have cooled by then!mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0 -
:hello:Morning all,
Lovely bright day today. It was actually warm and sunny over the weekend and DD was away at Cub Camp, so I got a fair bit of free time to do things around the house and allotment. As a result I'm absolutely puggled this morning and could barely drag myself out of bed. Typical Monday morning , with the kids moaning they were tired too. They've been back to school for 2 1/2 weeks now and they're bored with it.
Hubby managed to pull the curtain rail down in the bedroom this morning...all the carp curtain rail's fault of course, nothing to do with the fact he regularly pulls the curtains down and the rest of us never do. I told him to leave it to me to fix as I've been intending to change the summer curtains for winter ones soon anyway and they will need an extra set of brackets fitted, because of the weight. Hope I can find the box of spare fittings.
Other job today (apart from laundry, cleaning, tidying up, cooking and taxi-ing the kids around) is to get the jamming kit out. I don't make much summer jam as I prefer to make frozen ice cream sauces to keep in the freezer from soft fruit but I do make a LOT of apple jelly and hedge fruit jams. I've got two boxes of relatively clean jamjars to sort and then run through the dishwasher to get the dust off and make sure they're 100% clean to use. I'll start the jam proper later in the week. I need more sugar anyway.
Better get on with it I suppose....sigh....Val.0 -
Morning all:D:D
Am still in bed after a fab weekend at the Royal Wedding. The do was much better than we thought, and we have found out who's been doing all the stirring behind the scenes, it is who I thought it was, and OH saw it for himself at the do:mad::mad::mad:
Am going round to see Dexter later with my Mum who's just got back off hols. He's settling in fine, and Boo has been ok with him so i'm relieved:D:D
My best mate rang last night v upset as her 12 year old Son had kicked her and called her a "fat biatch" There's no excuse for it, but he has seen her ex treat her like this and I fear he thinks it's normal:(:(:(

Morning folks
Betheebee - thinking of you today, also your DD.
Good luck to all down south whose kids are starting, restarting school/ college. Big day for everyone. Hope it goes as smoothly as it possibly can for you all.
Lovely sunny morning here. Dogs walked earlier but think I'll pop out with them again before I head out.
Have soaked the glass tray from microwave in Daz. It's a combi oven so I use it qtute a lot as it's quick to heat up. The glass tray is in dire need of cleaning as I usually just give it a wash and wipe. It needs something more serious today!
Been microwaving my wheatbag (but not on above tray!) and it is really helping my shoulder/ arm. The muscles down my upper arm have been really sore so must be clenching them to protect my shoulder or something. Anyway, the heat is helping.
Glad the wedding went well after all CG! Enjoy a cuddle with Dexter later. Your mum will be thrilled to see him.
Off now.
Have a good day peeps

Hello,
Had a lovely weekend visiting family. O/S - Put two loads of washing out, will go food shopping later and stick to my list. Just making a banana cake in the bm yummy!
Only a couple of days till we get our results from the hospital (get them on Wednesday, has been a long three weeks!!)
Hugs to all who needs them. x0 -
Howdy everyone! Just been having a quick skim of the thread for the past few days as I have been MIA and now I am exhausted
Hugs to all those who need it and "Hussah" to all those with good(ish) news. Got very annoyed on Friday by the news we've lost another two local shops - so now Mr Cameron and Ms Portas have two page letters via fax to read - and I shall expect a reply within 14 days (well, they said they wanted to hear about high streets struggling). Local carnival on Saturday and it was VERY small. So I've volunteered for that. No youth groups in it at all or local bands which was most disappointing (not counting the two dance schools that had floats as they're all ages). I don't understand it.....surely it's something for them to be working on etc? I know it's at the start of September but I used to break up and come back 2 weeks earlier when I was a Brown Owl so we could take part (two floats, two best in carnival wins
). I shall make that my mission - along with joining the local support group for our shopping centre as well...... sometimes you just have to step up the plate and this is my time..... and if I make myself a pain to the powers that be well, oh dear, how sad, never mind :rotfl: Apart from that not much doing. Earnt more than I thought I would last month (although not sure one of those line counts is right but I'm keeping my mouth shut :rotfl:). Washer on with shirt wash and football kit for OH for tonight drying....Dinner tonight is sausage and mash with veggies and I'm making extra mash for shepherd's pie tomorrow (disclaimer: not made with actual shepherds....;)). Finally bought a Ewbank yesterday which I've been droning on about for AGES because of the budgies and got a load more jam jars as well. Tackling lemon marmalade this week and possible damson vodka or gin...(depends which is cheapest at Asda...). I really want to make as many presents for C-word this year and to make them of edibles as I bought BIL/SIL a calendar last year as well as clothing and none of it we've ever seen them wear and the calendar didn't move from February until I moved it to August..... after cleaning the dust off it.... Every time I go up there I end up cleaning/tidying. 20 mins and I tidied 2 rooms of children's toys....it's not rocket science...... anyway, off to compare my Asda receipt now. It's a religion LOL! :rotfl: Have a nice day everyone! Might bob back in later..... But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green

Betheebee- sorry to hear of DDs accident ,hope she's ok,& your tests went alright and come back with nothing to worry about (((hugs)))
Where has my day gone again? I got in from walking the hound this morning and DB was ringing, could he and little Niece come over. They've just come back off hol so havent seen her for 2 weeks and due back at school tomorrow,so of course I said yes.A visit from them usually entails me rustling their lunch up, and baking with DN,resulting in loads of washing up and a very messy kitchen:rotfl:Luckily I had some hm beef broth in the fridge, and some rolls in the freezer so that was soon done- & buns made. Then they wanted to go and see our Big Niece & baby. She's only 5 mins away in the car,but it was 3.30 when he dropped me back off.Ah well its nice they come and see me.
Tea tonight is the leftover chilli I made for the 'do' at DH aunties to meet the Canadian rellies. That was really nice, but one of the cousins dropped a plate of chilli over the carpet :eek:Luckily it was in the utility part of the kitchen, not the main part,so he can replace it with a piece, poor chap-he went home soon after that.
Right,best get something done
Hugs to all in need.xx :heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -

Finally got on top of the washing, then DD magically appeared with a ton more from her 'floordrobe' -
She has been politely advised that maybe she should get more closely aquainted with the WM herself
Toad in the hole for dinner and an early night - anyone want a slightly mad cat who sings to herself in the mirror at 3 am????? love her really just wish I could take her batteries out sometimes
Have a great evening xNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!
