So I canceled the standing order ,going to get a new card issued so they cant charge my bank card and I am not going to entertain the contract.
I could understand if it was a billing contract cycle but they confirmed that it was not that.
I do not know where I stand. I do know how I stand.
Oh dear. Another who thinks they can escape what they signed.
This doesn't have a good ending. At all for you.
I wish you well...you're going to need it.0 -
You should try and set up the direct debit again ASAP, even if they are in the wrong you need to keep paying them until it's sorted.0

I signed up for a contract with phone4u I got an iphone for £35 a month with 900 free mins , free sms and 500meg internet.
I have been monitoring my usage through my account manager @ my02 and I have only made a phone call for 29p
so my bill should have been £35.90p but I login to internet banking and I see o2 have taken £45 out of my bank.I called phones4u They confirmed that my bills is £42 a month when I signed up online it said £37 they said that since its been 7 days that they wont do anything about it and I am stuck on a higher tarrif.
£35 x 1.20 = £42
or
£35 x 20% VAT = £42
The 29p call will be included in your free minutes.0 -
For non-business customers prices have to be quoted including VAT.
Would you not be surprised to be charged extra 20% at checkout in Tesco?0 -
i'd be very surprised to be charged an extra 20% seeing as most food is VAT except0
-
I expected this excuse. That's why it was Tesco, not, say, Farmfoods.
Wait... Farmfoods sell toilet rolls :mad:0 -
regardless of that, the extra £7 is comparable to VAT, but when you look at their site http://www.phones4u.co.uk/shop/shop_contract_details.asp?ItemKey=416279&intcid=HP_PAYM_P1 the price is £42 for the iPhone on O2. So he's either gone for the Orange price plan but clicked on O2 or there's another on O2 which is cheaper and they haven't knocked the insurance off on the next page.0

I wish you luck with the ongoing battle of being taken to the cleaners for breach of contract0

Really? If you are so good at this, could you tell us where the T&C say this, please?
OK, so I should have said that it's clearly available in the general advice given on the website.....do you really need to be so pedantic??0 -
Yes, I need.
I think such big T&C have to include all the essential information and the billing is the essential information.
Customers are supposed to read the T&C, but are not supposed to search websites.
Also, "Another case of someone failing to find the information on the website..." sounds quite differently from your original statement, doesn't it?0
