What I'd like to know is what a £750 TV does that a 42" full HD plasma for £399 doesn't do, bar give you awful migranes from wearing stupid active 3d glasses?Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Whilst I agree with most posts about saving for the TV, I can't agree with those saying it's a ripoff.
You can't judge the price of a TV on just size, quality varies a lot and visually and tech wise. I went to the gadget show earlier this year and whilst some TV's are HD some of these on show were unlike anything I have ever seen picture wise..... hence the £3000 price tag on one!!
Now if it is actually worth paying out for one..... up to the buyer I suppose.0 -
£750 is average, mid-range price guys.
Paying less would generally mean you're looking at low-spec, entry-range. Also, I did say "up to"... So ideally, I'd have found one for £600.
In terms of what they do that the cheaper one wouldn't.. "Passive 3D", as opposed to "active 3D", so no stupid £100+ glasses. Freeview HD, a good gaming size and good refresh rate & low input lag. 40" size increases the cost as well, as opposed to 32" (generally speaking).
Hope that makes sense.. If anyone does happen to have a TV in mind that meets those specs, I'd love to hear about it
.
