    Ok cool, you've made a choice and I hope it works out for you! Do be aware though that you may well be invalidating any future repaire you would go to Curry's for (eg dead pixels or something) - they may well have a look inside, see the home fix and return the set.

    I hope it is these capacitors and not another problem btw chap, I would hate for you to make your telly unsupportable and not solve the issue, so do be certain first!

    FWIW, I don't think the return under SOGA option of paying an assessment fee is a bad one. It should be pretty obvious once they power it up that it has a problem, and also pretty clear it's not because your 2-yr-old has posted crayons through all the holes (or some of the other silly things people try to get away with under a SOGA fix - and why they have a refundable assessment fee in the first place!)
