Flutterby - that's such a tragic waste of life :(

Moorhen - Not sure I could just sit and watch a netball tournament, I'd be too busy itching to join in LOL I've played netball since I was 9 to 30 when I fell pregnant with DS. Really miss it actually but I can't give the commitment required to "proper" teams, my last team was just a bunch of lawyers who set up their own little league.

Bless DD just had an accident in bathroom and managed, despite sitting on the loo, to wee all over the floor  She came downstairs saying "mummy and DS I've got a problem". She's such an old woman that one :rotfl:

  • Morning all,

The sun is shining here for a wee change, thanks for sending it over Red Doe.

Molly enjoy your wee mini break, I really want to visit Bath, its on my to do list. :)

Essex girl could you not do some yorkies or sausages, or turn the whole thinginto a pie of some sort?

Flutterby, that is truly awful, I woke up to my boy climbing into our bed this morning, and immediately thought about some poor woman waking up this morning to the realisation she won't see her boy again, its an horrendoud thought. What a waste.

Plans for me today, OH is cutting the grass and doing a few diy jobs for me before he leaves again, he isoff out to get a tool back froma friend, and tonight we are having fajitas with all te trimmings, so I need to get on and get guacamole etc. made. Might do my own wrap too, as I have time. Will make some tablet too, for Oh to take back to wotk, and a cake of some sort, no scracth that, we have his birthday cake, so I will do twinks or empire biscuits.

Hope everyone has a good, safe, day. Hugs for everyone in need, and spoons and hi fives all round, too.

Household full - 7 kids and 4 adults. Two friends and their kids stayed over last night - nice so that they all play together and us Mums get a chance to chat whilst OH was playing on the computer. Only problem was that OH insisted we all watch doctor who - so my 2 kids were terrified, so I ended going up to bed with them. They slept in my bed, OH slept on the sofa, Friend 1 and her 2 slept in spare double bed, friend 2 and her 3 slept on the sofa bed in DS2s room and in his bed too.

This morning they're all watching Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang. Think I need Nanny McPhee as well today. Today will be leftovers and getting ready for school - simply means making the packed lunches and putting them to bed early as I did it all last week thankfully. Can't think straight until I've had my coffee - so love to all. xxx
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

    Morning all,
DH and I woke at 4.30 both tossing & turning tried to get back to sleep but gave up at 5.30 so he made coffees and we sat in bed chatting. We agreed that we must do more together instead of doing so much for the family, best laid plans and all that as we are off to do more on DD1's bathroom tomorrow.
Doing a full roast for DH it'll be the half price beef, I'm done the york mix. Don't know what I fancy.
Must sort out some paperwork and pay some bills online. Lawn needs mowing again so will do that and potter in the garden.
I do hope it's a happier day for all.

FLUTTER, what a tragic loss of life, my heart goes out to his family. I'm glad that you haven't lost someone you knew.

Morning folks - sun is shining here and I and a lovely early walk round the park with the dogs. Sunny, with dew on the grass and a nip in the air - a proper autumn morning and my favourite!
Molly - thanks for posting the link to L Liberty's news last night. I've read it just now and am thrilled for them both. Sad thoughts of missing Diva, as many on here do, but this has given me a warm glow. Enjoy Bath - I'm another one who'd love to visit it one day. Jane Austen wrote about the dances there didn't she? Was it in .....come on brain... the one that starts with the girl reading up a tree. Ah well. May edit to add!
Flutterb - sorry to hear that news. How sad for the family and friends.
esm - I was scared watching Dr Who and wondered if any kids would be put off their dolls!!
Bitsy, me younger DSS (now 17) was always old beyond his years and used to sound like a right grandad when he was little. I did laugh at your DD.
Got some painkillers for shoulder at the chemist yesterday but ended up feeling really unwell with them - upset tum and sick in the end. Fine today though and going to just put up with the shoulder and hope physio appt isn't too long in coming round. Dr suggested self-referral as it's quicker and I handed the form in about 3 weeks ago.
Washing machine finally on with yesterday's planned load.
Tea - hhmm might roast some gammon that I bought last weekend or else have some freezer roulette.
    Have a good Sunday peeps.

    Morning all

Hope everyone is as well as they can be! DD started school on friday - she was great; I cried!
I've had a lovely long weekend off and have enjoyed the time with DH and the kids. Kids are at a party this afternoon which we have to go with them to - should be fun......
Cottage pie for dinner - prepared just needs the potatoes cooking and putting together. Also have some left over bolagnese which I think i'll mix with some cooked pasta shapes, top with cheese and make a pasta bake which can be an alternative for dinner (kids will probably go for that).
Need to do some baking for packed lunches this week - think I'll need to freeze it to make it last as my baked goods don't last very long in this house....24 chocolate brownies made late last night....3 left this morning!
    Enjoy your sundays everyone x

  • Good morning everyone, I have a line of clothes blowing away on the line this morning (my Mum would be horrified at hanging out washing on a Sunday ) but the forecast is wet and windy this week so its got to be done.I am going to have a gentle pottering day today nothing too exhusting as I'm still on my antibiotics and coughing and wheezing (sounds like a 50-a-day smoker ) and I don't smoke:)My eldest DD may make an appearance this morning so I might make a lemon drizzle cake as I have four lemons in the fridge that need using up.My friend gave me a bag of apples last night, so I am going to combine them with some blackberries (DGS picked for me on Friday) and make a pie.I'll take it to youngest DDs house later this afternoon when I go round to dinner,'every little helps' as they say, and her hollow-legged sons will soon scoff it down for pudding.
I love this time of the year when its still warm enough to enjoy the parks and countryside without getting too hot, and you can forage for 'free' fruit if you know where to look. In a way September is a bit like the new year as the holidays are over and its time to plan all the things to come ,Next month Halloween (I still have some tubes of icing that I will decorate gingerbread men to look like skeletons with for the children I think the recipe was in an Asda's free giveaway booklet last year. Then Bonfire night with some sticky toffee for the boys .This year its my eldest DGS 21st birthday on the 14th November so I'm really looking forward to that, and Ben another DGS is 16 in December .I have a few 'big birthdays' coming up and a party in October to go to and that's before I start thinking about Christmas.Even the chilly days are nice to nestle into my comfy armchair with a nice book and a rug or my knitting and the radio is one of my small pleasures. Then there's HM soups and stews to cook .I know a lot of folk don't like the dark nights drawing in but there is a lot of positive things as well to have Well enough nattering I am off to have my honey and butter cinnamon bagel for breakfast with a large cup of coffee then a good bit of pottering around Have a great day everyone whatever you maybe doing and <<hugs>> to those who aren't feeling so good or are worried and low
    Cheers Chums JackieO xxx
