I bought some things I didn't really want (excess christmas presents for just in case) and went to return them and the Cs manager said you can't return them as you have used vouchers.

I said is this a new rule. She didn't answer but wouldn't refund. Instead wrote on my receipt 'no refunds as vouchers used'. I wasn't happy and told her I was going to ring HO. (haven't done so yet).

So watch out as they seem to be making new rules.

Sounds like a rule that a particular manager had made up.  Isn't it in your statutory rights that you can return stuff?

Besides, you might've paid with Clubcard vouchers (not that MSErs would ;)), they come up as just "coupons" on your receipt too, AFAIK...
  • Well it feels rather nice not to have a tesco shop today although I believe ella2002 it is till spill day tomorrow ! so off Tescoing I go tomorrow.

Waddy and shoppaholicgirl your vouchers are ready to be posted tomorrow.

Kez1234 - did try PMing you following our discussion on clothing vouchers but your in box is full. I can send you some £2.50 off a £10 spend and £1.00 off healthcare if you wish. PM me your addy if you want some.

The last few days have been good - DD2 passed her exam in guitar and then also passed her audition for the Popstars Dance school and will now dance in the Lord Mayors show. (I am so proud of her) I have saved £180 by visiting 3 seperate Tescos and have now achieved my 25,000 clubcard point target.

    MFI here I come

  • i'm going to do my own H+B shop tomorrow, using the sun vouchers that some MSE'ers were kind enough to post to me. if i have any leftovers i will offer them although there probably won't be any points coupons (unless my store has H+B leaflets lying around).

there are still 4 lots of vouchers sitting on my table waiting for the people who said they'd send SAEs. i know the postal service isn't fast at the moment but ten days should be long enough. i've deleted my pms when the box got full so i have no record of who i'd put them aside for because i'm not very clever and this is my first time at sending things out to people.

not sure what the etiquette is for keeping them or offering them to other people? it would be easier if i had kept everyone's usernames but i didn't :(

  • from what i can tell welshy is only offering the spare vouchers left over from sets she needed, because she's used the 50 pointers. therefore she has not taken more than she needs.

  • I'm delighted with Welsh-Dragon's advice re H&B and newspaper H&B vouchers. I used them on bogoffs yesterday without a problem but today they wouldn't go through - despite spending 20 quid. However I managed to use 2.50 voucher and 50 extra points and then went to customer services who refunded me 5 pounds for the voucher that didn't originally go through - so all in all a brilliant shopping trip!
  • Yes I only have the £2.50 off and £1.00 off respectively, all the others have gone or have been used

Finally can I say a huge thanks to you all for your support, kind comments and PMs - very much appreciated. I joined this site because I was badly in debt and now hope that I can educate you all in the power of the vouchers because as you can see from my postings I do save a fortune

  • For anyone using the newspaper £5 voucher off toiletries, I have found if it is not at the top of my pile, whether it be at the end or in the middle it has not scanned. The one time I went to CS to tell them and try to get reimbursed they stated I had to spend £40 on bogofs to get the discount.

Agree with welshy re £5 voucher placement in your pile. Done it twice no problems. Tried yesterday with voucher on top but man child on checkout got distracted put pile down and picked them up the wrong way!!!!!!! he started with the points ones which all went through bot then the 2.50 and 1. wouldnt and lastly 5 didnt register!!!!!!
cant complain house is now looking like a Boots outlet so ive had enough in last week for pennies.

  • i'm being thick but just want to check ... the toothpaste pump and the shower gel that comes up with a bigger BOGOF discount - i don't need to add it up differently do i? will it still be a £20 spend, but will just cost less than £10 at the checkout? sorry but i'm not very clever today lol!
