Hope this is taken in the manner intended .... :o

What has happened to Angecull' may be a lesson for everybody not to "Over do it" regarding Tesco's own coupons ...

I enjoy a bargain like everybody else ... however it likely rings big bells @ Tescolditz when people run through dozens of coupons in consecutive shops ...

None of us surely wish to be banned ... I personally would be horrified and embarrassed ... so I use them occasionally but not to an extreme ... you only need so much Shampoo ... ;)

Let's hope we can all stay the right side of Tescon's ... and proceed with Caution!

    Hi Littlebill,

I totally agree with you about not using too many coupons (i think Ive used my fair share but must admit I have calmed down a little now, sweetshop syndrone I think). I tend to use a couple when I do my family shop now.

What I cannot understand is why tesco still offer coupons which can be used to get free/nearly free items by combining the many vouchers that they have on offer. Why not wait until the quit pack vouchers end then produce the h&b etc. Surely tesco expect people to use vouchers they are giving away.

Leadhead-how would they enforce a national ban?? surely you still shop at Tesco?? - did they warn you or just BAN you from shopping at any Tesco?? It's a bit worrying - think I'll use my vouchers sparingly!!

Fortunately, they can't enforce a national ban, if you don't let them know you are in the store anyway.

My letter asked me seek permission from the duty manager before entering, If I didnt, then I would be refused service and any RandR..........??????????????

Obviously I dont introduce myself, so they dont know I have entered.

Silly isnt it.........The letter didnt even come recorded delivery............But thats why we dont use a ClubCard(Tesco Identity Card), for anything but normal shopping.

The only real drawback is, the inability to pay using a Credit Card,(which my OH does for normal shopping) and to be unable to contact HO spontaneously for that big RandR, even with a well prepared alternative address.....if I run into stubborn store staff.

A lot of people have just suffered points reduction, without explanation.

A lot of people havent yet raised any alarms on their accounts.

I have recent receipts with over 5000 points on them, which wont be claimed.
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

Angecull31, do you think they banned you for couponing or R&Ring?

Like you, I do both as some of you may have realised  so I wonder if you knew why it was. Had you just R&R'd when the Tesco Mafia challenged you, or had you just couponed?

IMHO it is most likely just that store that have noticed your shopping practices....they probably remember you if you regularly R&R in there, or maybe they have noticed high coupon-use from you before and watched you this time. I suspect that store has decided to clamp down and you are their scapegoat this time.

The reason I say it's probably an in-store thing is that, although a Clubcard 'investigation' COULD reveal your R&Ring or overenthusiastic Coupon-use it would take HO HOURS of trawling thru' copies of receipts and refund records from different stores, and HO don't seem to have been involved here?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • So I guess it's best not to use your clubcard when using the QK coupons?? - can you still get the points added on later ?? (when the CS add on points does a record of what you purchased get recorded or do they just add on the points?)
I never did any R&R (only found out about the policy in January 2007 - now they're ending it!! besides I was just too scared to even try it!!) - leadhead -5000 points!!!! looks like you did alot of R&R......

To be perfectly honest I think it must have been the coupons that did it! I think the fact that I did a big R&R (my only ever one!!!) last week was the straw that finally broke the camel's back! Unfortunately for me it was my local shop and although there is a large ASDA right next door (who had the sheer CHEEK (LOL!) to over charge me this morning I still prefer TESCO and not just for the obvious reasons!

I wasnt suggesting that this incident had gone to HO, IMHO, they've traced the transaction by the individual in that store by the clubcard receipt/details, then waited until the next oportunity to act.

I'm not suggesting you stop using your CC because you use say 4 plax 2 colgate and a couple of £1.25 QK coupons.......but if you use £40 or more worth, then i certainly wouldnt be using my CC.

With regards to adding your points later, that gets you away from the tills/store without being detected, but a few of us believe that "points added at CS" actually flag up on their system as "possible wombling", this is someting they aren't keen on, so while its ok for the odd visit, I personally wouldnt recommend that either.

But having said that, I know of people who have "wombled" successfully for quite a while.

I believe that the change in RandR policy this weekend could well be followed by policy change to couponing and wombling.

    .

I have never done Wombling, just because I have never found a receipt that is suitable. Does it have to have a barcode and show that no clubcard was used? If this is the case then surely the barcode would record the whole transaction and thus show your coupon useage when it was scanned at a later date or is this not the case. After watching the Dispatches program last week the clubcard details are obviously very useful to Tesco.

  • Hey everyone,
All this Clubcard stuff makes for interesting reading! Maybe I should be going in my fake moustache and sunnies when couponing!

But anyway, I have some of the £2 make up vouchers. PM me if you would like some.

Also, would somebody mind telling me what the £2 toileteries and beauty ones look like? Are they the same design as the Make up ones and the old £1 off £4 from the Tesco magazine? Id like to know what im looking for next time im in Tesco ;)

    TIA

Yes they are the same design as the old £1 off £4.00 ;)
Some people see the glass half full, others see the glass half empty - the enlightened are simply grateful to have a glass :)
  • Hi all!! This relates to which products fall into BOTH 'toiletry' and 'beauty' (hence being able to use both coupons in the quit kit packs)

I would be really grateful if you could confirm (or indeed deny)the following :-

**ALL SHAMPOOS**(ie Tresemme/Timotei) fall in the 'toiletry' AND 'beauty' category (so I can use both the coupons in one transaction??)

**ALL BODYWASHES**(ie Sanex) fall into BOTH?

**ALL TOTHPASTES**(ie Colgate pumps) fall into BOTH?

**ALL MOUTHWASHES**(ie plax) fall into BOTH?

What about body sprays (ie Impulse) or antiperspirant (ie rightguard) - do they fall into BOTH??

I would be really really grateful if people could let me know which specific brands/products they have bought and been able to use BOTH the 'Toiletry' and 'Beauty' coupons.

    THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!
