What with the monthly saver, a free £100 from the STC promotion, and a constant stoozing stream of £15K 0% credit card repeats, I'm looking forward to the left one dropping as well. :D

Not bad is it. Dont forget the MGM promos too (£50 each!)
  • Max of £500 start up and £250 pcm. Can't remember a minimum, I think it was very low.

the minimum is 25 quid. it has to be by standing order and you have to have a current account with them as well (easily set up with 1 pound i did it today painless)

On the Lloyds TSB homepage (a few weeks ago), there was a notice stating that the offer would close on March 5th. I see that they seem to have removed this notice now, but that doesn't mean that they aren't going to close it.

I'd recommend checking the LTSB website from March 1st, because if they still intend to close the offer I think they will put this info back on their webpage. In any case, why not open the account before the originally proposed closure date, that way at least you won't miss out on the offer.
Thanks for the advice Kazza. I was going to wait until April before I started this so I'd have the maximum amount of money available to kick-start it, but I will start in March if I need to, to beat the deadline. I've already opened the current account.

I just spoke to Lloyds TSB on the phone (on the number you call to register for the product) and the adviser (who was helpful despite not giving me a definite answer!) said the "closing now/soon/not at all" issue is unconfirmed at the moment. She said she was aware that 5 March had been put on the website and then removed but couldn't confirm the future of the product one way or the other. She said if I called tomorrow they would know by then. A bit of a faff, but I'd rather do that than miss out.

Two weeks ago I set mine up on the phone on a Saturday. It appeared in internet banking on the following Wednesday which was also the day the £500 was transferred in. They told me it takes a few days to set up when you do it over the phone.

Both partner and I have std current account and a Platinum joint account hence 3 current accounts
We also have two 8% Regular savings accounts, one each.
Anything stopping us opening another from the joint account
So 3 current and 3 regular savings account?
    Has anyone done this

I've just spoken to them again on the sign-up number, 08453002758, and (following the operator checking with a manager) they have now assured me that the account is NOT closing to new investors tomorrow.

I said I was hoping to open the account in mid-to-late April if it would still be available then to make best use of the time, he said it'll still be available for signing up if I want to wait until then as they've had no notification of it ending.

I suppose it'll be best to keep an eye on the website but basically it looks like there's no mad rush now.
