Grrr, I only just moved over from asda. Should have gone with talktalk essentials and kept the good vodafone signal.

Slightly miffed at giff gaff anyway as I thought I would get itemised billing but it turns out all the web based account stuff does not do that? Not sure why I had to give them all my details then... Partly my fault for assuming.

Running down my ten pounds of credit will now take me two months or so. You'd think legally the higher prices shouldn't apply to existing credit but they seem do. Bleah.

Ye i agree, but you are using 02 network plus you can flip between payg and goody bags and you get free 0800. No other company offers that as far as i know(i dont work for them!)
never put off buying a bargain today,it may be gone tomorrow

Like the stamps I got from the PO to send cards to Europe.... and now won't - because the new face value won't cover it?

    No change there!

not that good a comparison, 1st class stamps from a few years ago can still be used to send a 1st class letter today, even though the price has increased more than once since then.

Anyone know of a decent comparison table listing all the networks cheaper than Giffgaff?

Well I know of seven PAYG SIM cards which will have a cheaper base-rate cost than giffgaff when their price rise takes effect.

A full comparison table is virtually impossible - because top up rewards, bundles, freebies, goodybags, double credit deals and whatever other daft vocabulary the phone companies invent mean that they all have different deals and prices which aren't quite as simple as "which is cheapest".

However, if we ignore all the bundles/extras/top up rewards etc, here are some that have a basic rate that are now going to be cheaper than giffgaff.

TALKMOBILE ESSENTIALS 8p/min calls (4p/min to Talkmobiles) 4p/text (2p to Talkmobiles) 8p/min voicemail

TESCO LITE 8p/min calls 4p texts 8p/min voicemail

FAMILY MOBILE 8p/min calls 4p texts 8p/min voicemail

ICARDMOBILE 3p/min landlines 6p/min mobiles 5p/texts free voicemail

SIMFINITI 5p/min landlines 9p/min mobiles 6p/texts free voicemail

    LEBARA 5p/min landlines 10p/min mobiles 10p/texts 10p/min voicemail

    VECTONE 5p/min landlines 10p/min mobiles 10p/texts 10p/min voicemail

So, yes, Giffgaff's new standard base-rate CAN quite often be beaten - but it isn't as simple as this, unless you are a really light user, in which case icardmobile is probably the one for you.

This excludes data - which adds a new level in incomprehensibility. For example, a goodbag purchase on giffgaff provides unlimited data, but costs £10 and only lasts for a month. Add a £10 topup to a Vectone SIM and you get 10MB of data each day for free - and you still have the £10 credit to use how you like, and it isn't time limited to 30 days. It isn't really possible to compare completely different offers. It is deliberately confusing.

SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)
  • GiffGaff still do the unlimted texts for 5 pounds month.

Why do orange say from dont like that word its either 4p to call other networks or its not must be catch as it Orange

Orange and Tmobile not very fexible due to restrictive internet but I do like the internet only deal which you can get 6 months internet for 12.50 which has limit of 500mb month so ok for lowish user but still GiffGaff is the best if you use your internet on your phone 24/7 and if you use voip on your mobile.
