Citibank - Faster Payments

The £500 a day total for Faster Payments isn't even a daily maximum - that £500 now has to last over several days when there are Bank Holidays.
It still makes sense - it's £500 that can be done to be sent during the working hours. If you attempt the transfer out of that time, it will be scheduled to be entered(!) on the next working day. So I could make a faster payment "now" (or could have done on Saturday for that matter) for £2000, but it would be entered only for Wednesday and reach the payee on Thursday. "Faster" payment it truly is.
As noone else could get money out of your account this way if you check it daily, you could also call it safer. In a very twisted sort of way.
What really cracks me up if you call them, they can do it right away, you just need to cope with the automated pestering for a few minutes why not do your transfer online.... :mad:Enjoy the silence...0 -
And even now, just as a follow-up, no more Faster Payments are being allowed online - presumably that's not going to change until later this morning at the start of a new banking day.
If anyone happens to look at this thread, thinking about using Citibank for normal, everyday banking, for God's sake don't - these people haven't a clue how to run a banking operation.
[Updated at 09.35 - no change. Still no more Faster Payments allowed online. Whatever banking hours Citibank keep, they aren't normal!]
[No change at 10.10 - perhaps they spend a lot of their time asleep?]0 -
Just sent £1100 from my Santander account to my Citi Plus account this morning. Its showing as left my Santander account, but not showing up in my Citi account yet. Any ideas how long it takes to show up?Debt free and staying that way! :beer:0
