Tried to send a payment from lloyds TSB to Citi and it failed. Looks like they are having major problems! I got an error saying that the account was incorrect. Which it wasn't. Ho hum- let's hope they fix it!0

My bank:We have cancelled this payment and any future dated payments as the receiving bank have told us that the information given is not correct. The money has been credited back into your smile account. [...] It is essential that the correct account details and reference number are quoted for the payment to reach the right destination.
How patronising (& incorrect)! I sent a humorous reply about Citibank having a few issues and to bear with them - as they are the slowest of the banks...Home life ceases to be free and beautiful as soon as it is founded on borrowing and debt - Henrik Ibsen0 -
I sent a payment yesterday from Halifax to Citi.
It's arrived today and showing on the online statement.0 -
Hmmm. My test payments yesterday from Lloyds (same system as Halifax now) are also now showing at Citi.
"GL CREDIT" description - is that a standard one for inward credits to Citi?0 -
Tried test payments from Lloyds yesterday and again just now. Lloyds identifies the sort code as an FP target, but the message comes back from Citibank saying the account isn't recognised.
Ironic in view of their long-time mantra "We are working to ensure that we go live with a resilient and secure platform""It will take, five, 10, 15 years to get back to where we need to be. But it's no longer the individual banks that are in the wrong, it's the banking industry as a whole." - Steven Cooper, head of personal and business banking at Barclays, talking to Martin Lewis0 -
Looks like things are still broken
Your payment was not successful
We're sorry, but we couldn't complete your payment to T&C Citibank Sort code: 30-00-45, Account Number: 810xxxxx for £1.00.
The beneficiary Bank have advised us that the sort code and account number provided are incorrect. Please check the details and try again0 -
Still having problems and nothing can go in at all. The sort code checker for FPS even states that the citibank sort code is totally out of action ATM.
Smile doing-my-head-in by continually removing the payee details and registering the trans. as incorrect.
C'mon citibank... I can't imagine people are going to get excited about your shiny new current accounts when you lack the facility to transfer money to it. Grrrrr.
Why are citibank even offering new current accounts? I thought they were selling off anything not associated with core business? (egg et al..)Home life ceases to be free and beautiful as soon as it is founded on borrowing and debt - Henrik Ibsen0 -

"Payments to Citibank
We cannot currently process any payments to accounts with the sort code 30-00-45. This is due to an issue within Citibank.
It is expected that this issue will be resolved by Monday 3 October.
If your payment is urgent please contact your beneficiary to discuss alternative payment methods.
Message updated 30 September 2011"
