Citibank - Faster Payments

Now got an online message apologising for the problems, pointing out that (a) I may need to chase people to make payments again (b) with incoming payments going missing, I may have missed outgoing payments owing to insufficient funds.
Sorry, but I don't normally check my Citibank online messages daily. And if people are expecting their accounts to be running on autopilot (and why not?) , I don't think an online message is an adequate way to call their attention to the fact that urgent action may be needed.
We need to resist this creeping notion that people are supposed to check their online banking daily and it's their fault of they don't.
I sent a message to Citibank complaining about this and got the message back that my message cannot be delivered!0 -
I am glad to report that at long last my Citibank account is accepting Faster Payments. I sent two payments this afternoon; one from Barclays and the other from HSBC. Both payments were credited within 3 minutes.
Now, finally, I might be prepared to use Citibank as my main account.0 -

Yes, I have realised this on Saturday when I sent a payment from my RBS account and saw it credited within a few seconds.
I have noticed that outgoing payments, however, are going through BACS. Also I have an euro currency account and when I have tried to send a FP to it, it is rejected. They only work with sterling accounts.0 -

Still seems a bit hit and miss. Sent a payment on Sunday to my Citibank account from a NatWest account and it arrived instantly. Same today, and from an HSBC account. However two payments I made from the NatWest account into my CB current account on Monday evening have totally disappeared! NatWest say that, from their end, it looks like they were successfully sent FPS. Citibank have been looking into it for a day and a half and at the moment they can't find any evidence of it arriving. NatWest are running a trace on the payment. I wouldn't mind but the payment totalled £10k!
Interestingly enough, something did hit my account for a short while. Once I made the payments I checked my CB account online. The incoming payments weren't listed in the itemised statement, but my balance was up £10k. Until the next morning when all trace had disappeared!
I'd recommend only sending small amounts until the teething problems have been sorted.

Faster payments from and to Citibank has been working for quite some weeks, but today I'm not having much luck with it.
I tried sending to three different banks, but after a bit of idling, it comes back with a message to "Confirm Date Change" so that it won't be sent today, but instead, on Monday (the 6th). And then it has the nerve to boldly claim "Your payment has been processed via the Faster Payments Service". No, if it was, it would have arrived already...
Is it only me today, or they are trying to find new ways of complying with the regulations of implementing faster payments to the letter while making it as useless as can be?Enjoy the silence...0 -

Well, it looks like payments below £500 work instantly, but up to £500 a day, everything above that, even if to other accounts, is asking me to confirm a "date change" to a working day later.
They supposedly have a £100k limit:

And since I canceled the original payment scheduled for Monday (because I made part payments), any new payments are only scheduled for Tuesday, because the cutoff time is 3pm.
Customer services promised to try the payment today and see if it can get through *as soon as* I can enter my debit card number. Problem is I didn't think I would need to carry today, as I thought I had online access...
It's not the most impressive implementation of faster payments, let me just say that.Enjoy the silence...0 -

Faster Payments are still not working as they should be, despite all the promises to sort it out. Almost invariably, I find I have to telephone to get a payment made.
Dreadful bank, dreadful customer service.0 -
Trying to send a FP to the Citibank account today. It shows up as a "B" in smile transfer language and is thus "meant" to transfer in 3 days. However - on checking Citibank 3 minutes later - the payment is in there.
