They are very much the exception rather than the rule.... Whilst working for a bank I am in the same possition of having to have a staff account with them to have salary paid in and just cant be bothered with the withdraw and put into another account situation but I did previously have a nationwide account and they made the service from my Natwest credit card company look like private banking

I've never had a problem with Natwest. Got 2 accounts and had 2 credit cards with them and always receive statements on time. One of the, if not the best financial company i've dealt with. I have to have my salary mandated into another account (job says so!) but its always transferred straight across to Natwest. I trust them more....plus they have UK based customer service which is a big thing in my opinion.

I agree for banking they are excellent, the cards services are just shoddy (you can probably get as good, if not better rates elsewhere with as good service though)

Nationwide only takes a day? Nice!

If you transfer from a Nationwide flexaccount to a credit card before 6pm (not on a Sunday or bank holiday) it appears the next day (if you do it after 6pm or on a Sunday/bank holiday it appears the day after the next working day)

True. I've got rid of one of them but kept another. Its clear with a £4.3k limit. Might give them a bell and see if they will offer me anything worthwhile.
  • Hi.

I work for them for my sins!

We have been able to set up dd's over the phone since just before xmas on 08708 881246. cust svs can't do it yet cos they've not been trained, lol!

There is a missing payments department. Call that same above number. If you paid cash over the counter they will need to see a copy of the stamped counterfoil. Any fees/interest accrued due to that will be refunded.

I have just checked online banking for balances of accounts and I too have been charged a late payment fee!!! I paid my normal payment in CASH for my previous statement by the due date and then later in the month paid another CASH payment which I presume would be off the following months statement. I went to my local Natwest branch on the 10th Jan paid another CASH payment for this months bill (which clears my debt to them) and today seen a late payment charge for £12!! As there is no waiting for clearence on cash I thought that this was ok the due date by the way was 11th Jan. They debit cash drawn from my accounts and my money on the same day so why are their payments taking so long?? the debit late fee was applied to card account on the 11th aswell!! Cheeky !!!!!!s so I will be down to my local branch to sort this this afternoon!!

Takes 4 days for cash to clear... And you get charged first thing on the day.
