How much do you pay for a hair cut?

  • I pay £130 every six months cut and two colours
  • I pay about £22 - £28 every six months to a year .
I usually get a wash, cut and blowdry as well as my hair straightened for that price and the hairdresser normally has to spend a good hour on it to get it sorted.

I haven't got much money to keep having haircuts so I like to go when it needs a really good trim to get my money's worth as such.

I also live in a rural area on the borders of two counties and both nearest town (6 and 10 miles) have colleges with training hair salons. They only let 3rd/4th years colour, I have a base colour, hilights, trim and blow dry which costs £30 every 10/12 weeks. In between times the 1st/2nd years do blow drys which are £7, if it's a trim and blow dry 2nd/3rd years are £10. They take longer than a professional salon are supervised 100% of the time, and the students are chatty and great fun.
Never come away disappointed yet, and would highly recommend a college (I have no connection with any of them or any students) if you want/have time to while away a relaxed couple of hours :)

definitely agree with this - only 3rd year students (ie can graduate that year) are allowed to restyle or colour hair at my local college. I'm very impressed with them, and will continue to go there. Their prices are amazing (ie less than £10 for a restyle which includes all the products they use) and they are supervised. They take their time, discuss with you what you want etc.

If I have a cut and blow dry in town, its at least £30.

I live in a low income area- it's rural.
My hairdresser works in a salon part time (I think she rents a chair) and she does home visits. 30 minutes, damp cut (water sprayed) £7.50. I am well pleased....and it reminds me I need to contact her!

  • The last haircut I had was for £17 from a Groupon deal (valued at £51) and included a cut, blow dry and Aveda hair treatment which made my hair feel so soft afterwards. It took just over 2 hours as it was a complete restyle.

I wouldn't have paid full price for my cut but it was definitely worth it through Groupon.

I pay about 50 generally for a wash cut and blow dry. It worked out 32 in Supercuts last time when I fell for the £15 headline price on the window and it was just a damp trim. My mums mobile hairdresser gave it a trim in June ( fora few quid, she said she didn't want any money for it) but I need it again soon and will probably go back to Trevor Sorbie where its about 55 with tip, but they will give me a style that will last a long time without me coming back for ages so its probably worth it.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

  • i have the top stylist at a alon in town and it's £48! But.... last time it lasted 5 months - and I can cope with that! It's cut so much better than the local place that used to charge £25 and it would last 6 weeks!
    :jFlylady and proud of it:j
  • I go to a local salon and it is £25 for me to have a wash, cut, blow dry and hair straighten :P sounds like some on here are getting the same service for half the price though, I may have to start looking around for somewhere new!
