Best Value PAYG Sim?

Coming to the end of my contract with Orange, and before I call and tell them I'm giving notice I want to arm myself with as much info as possible, cos I know they aren't going to let me go easily and will try offering me all sorts, but I'm cancelling contract out of need to save money and because I barely use my phone anyway so contract is a bit of a waste of money.
Can anyone here suggest what the best PAYG sim-only deals are at the moment, that I can use in my HTC Hero? Ideally one of those "top-up by £10 a month and we'll give you an extra £20" sorts of deals. I do use my phone as a satnav, so will this still work when it's PAYG?
Thanks for any suggestions.

defo giffgaff...go google and search it

Giff Gaff gets my vote too.....:j0

I'm with the giff gaff gang.
Take a look at their tariffs which are quite good plus you can:
Get free calls to 0800 numbers - I don't know any other mobile that does that
Get a free £5 credit if you pass any sims on to your mates and they get activated
If anyone you know has a giff gaff sim in their phone then you can call and text them unlimited for free0 -
4th vote for giffgaff.
Needs to be ordered online but if you already have a phone you can quite easily get all your calls, texts and internet for effectivly nil cost.0 -

Many give a data allowance that lasts a month with a top up
Post #2 to #5 are pretty much pointless without knowing the OPs usage pattern.
Orange will try your idiocy side by offering a feisty retention deal, was with them for nearly 14 years, ony regretwas not jumping ship much sooner.0 -
Consider a rolling 30 day sim plan -
T-Mobile [100 minutes, 100 text, 500MB data] - £6
http://www.chitterchatter.co.uk/simonly.php:dance:Quidco Payments In 2011 - £724.21
June: £43.15/July: £51.22/August: £90.60/September: £29.75/October: £284.07/November: £171.08/December: £29.220 -

buying a £10 goody bag will give you unlimited texts/ internet and 250 mins not just topping up £10 ,0 -
The best deal depends on your requirements (usage). For example, you can get 12 months of internet for £10-£15 in total, but calls and texts will be not cheap.richie2837 wrote: »Can anyone here suggest what the best PAYG sim-only deals are at the moment, that I can use in my HTC Hero?
This sort of deals is usually a sort of hidden rip-off: Tesco mobile tariff rip off ?Ideally one of those "top-up by £10 a month and we'll give you an extra £20" sorts of deals.0 -
If you are really just interested in data then I like the T-Mobile 6 months of data for £20 deal on PAYG.
This really only works financially if you really don't make any calls at all.
There is also a T-Mobile PAYG iPhone SIM deal which might be worth a look (I assume that you can actually use it in other phones).0 -
For the satnav to work I guess it needs data to download the maps (Googlemaps certainly does).
The best PAYG is definitely Giffgaff by buying a £10 goodybag each month I'd say.
TalkMobile might be worth a look as they do SIM-only for £8-a-month (300 mins, 1000 texts, 500MB data) on a six month contract, and you can £30.30 cashback for taking that at www.topcashback.co.uk/talkmobile/
Talk to Orange about those and see what they offer. Don't rush into agreeing anything until you've looked around though.0
