Another 'newbie' here - I've been waiting 3 months since the original delivery date of 17th Jan 2014 - I'm still waiting for unit doors, handle less gloss range.... apparently there is a shortage due to a machine breaking down. But THREE MONTHS!!!! I'm sorry others appear to be still waiting too - we've got a half finished kitchen and I'm fed up of being fobbed off now.

I promised to update about my missing doors.

The promised delivery day was today. I got a call this afternoon to say that they would be yet another week late.

I can't give any advice about other kitchen companies, but on no account whatsoever would I consider purchasing anything from Wren.
  • We bought our gloss handleless range from Wren Thurrock in Jan -paid 10% deposit - paid remainder (total around 10k) in early Feb - delivery came 7th March - missing and damaged items - its now April 26th and I am still missing 6 items and have 6 damaged doors hanging and 1 damaged drawer front - just so we could start getting back to normality. Every week the manager says a delivery is due - and nothing comes or more damaged doors come - last time around the Wren fitter walked in said "these won't be any good either" - openeded them - damaged - "shall i put them in your skip" he says - my worry this company company will never deliver the replacement and missing bits and we will have to rip the whole lot out.....customer services ignore all my emails and the phone just rings around the various stores - far as I see they have broken their own Reps & Warranties and are in breach - will ring citizens advice to see what can be done exactly but can see this ending in the small claims court. Do not buy - please

A friend currently has exactly the same problem with the white gloss handleless range.

Ordered December for delivery in March. Delivery came, minus several doors. The manager at his Wren branch keeps giving delivery dates and then nothing happens. A few days ago the branch supposedly had the doors come in, but they themselves declared them defective.

There seems to be a significant problem with the manufacture of these doors, and a growing number of unfinished kitchens up and down the country. It's disgusting. :(

The fitters aren't happy. My friend's kitchen is practically finished, minus some doors, and the fitter doesn't get paid anything by Wren until it's complete, even though it's their fault it isn't!

My friend has sent his story to Watchdog:

It is all true....they are having huge manufacturing problems with the Gloss handleless ranges.... but are still taking orders for them...
which currently, it seems, they cannot fulfill.

Have spoken to two friends who work for them...the staff in most stores are afraid to answer the phones right now...

The other ranges may be OK, but I urge anyone reading this not to be tempted by a Wren Gloss Handless range at the moment...It is not like you cannot get a handless kitchen anywhere else....

Agreed. My friend had half of their outstanding doors delivered this morning but all are defective and have been rejected. Their store manager has now told them that a fresh delivery of newly manufactured doors will be made at the end of May but they're not holding their breath.

Yes, I am a newbie, I have no ambition to normally post consumer issues - however after spending nearly £4,000 on a fitted bedroom with Wren in Sheffield - please take it from me, if you are considering Wren, stay right away - no matter how good the showrooms may look, or how nice the sales staff appear or how competitive the price may be - it really is not worth it.

Nearly two months after the first delivery we still have outstanding issues - I cannot even be bothered going into great detail but a combo of missing items, incorrect items, wrong colours - amazingly after 5 attempts in correcting everything we still have a building site as a bedroom.

And and ....the "Account Manager" - talk about a chocolate fireguard - I demanded she has no input to our issues whatsoever....but then you get a visit from a local store rep, who comes across all nice and understanding - and even when you look them in the eye as they leave your doorstep and emphasise how important communication and updates are - over a week later we hear nothing, sailing through 2 promised delivery dates....

In 1994 I spent 18 months "project managing" a self build with a multitude of tradesmen....I had less problems and stress then, honest.

    Just stay away from Wren!!

Customer service is diabolical and one of their Orpington staff put the phone down on me halfway through me making a complaint this morning, wont be going there again.
