Anyone with kids gone from Sky to Freeview?

Absolutely

....and not missed Sky?
I've got an on-going battle with Sky. Long story involving ex-husband, change of home phone number with BT and overcharging since they "gave" me a new Sky box 3 months ago.
I'm getting passed from pillar to post. Utterly fed up, so I was considering binning Sky altogether.
Freeview only seems to offer 3 childrens channels. After a quick internet search, I don't believe additional childrens channels can be subscribed to.
I'm also not in a Virgin Media area, so that's not an option.
Help!

Yeah we ditched Sky as £50 a month was not good MSE Policy!! Kids get used to it after a while but we don't watch mutch TV as a family, they would rather be running about the garden or in the park.0

I have SKY but only the basic kids channels. They wouldn't notice if it were SKY or Freeview.
I changed when we moved house; it took them a week of moaning about no Mickey or Hannah but have got used to it and are now far nicer children!!0 -
i just posted in another thread about free channels on sky
theres some kids channels free and music one's too if they watch them there lots of free radio too
and if you sky dish that has a quad lnd on it (four fittings viewable on the arm of the sky dish)
if there's any spare you can connect other sky/freesat box's to them to get you tv in other rooms like a bedroom/kitchen etc

Actually, ignore that question. I've just seen Vales post and link and I think I get it now.0 -
They are different platforms, with similar (but not identical) channel line ups.
If you become an ex-Sky subscriber then your box will just revert to !!!!!! (the Sky FTA channels). No need to get Freeview. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
