Best way to report HB fraud?
Comments

I may be wrong but it seems the OP knows the person in question and is a little bitter?
My guess is it is either an ex or a friend/family member you have fallen out with? Just a guess could be completely wrong
In which case it looks like you are doing the right thing for maybe the wrong reasons?
Don't shoot me down, just the impression I get from reading the OP's posts
So because I want to report someone for benefit fraud im a bitter person. Im not bitter at all, yes I do know them, were not family or close friends, other than what they are doing they are nice people, but whether people are nice or not doesn't mean they should get away with it.
Ive suggested other things to the people who are claiming, ideas etc of what they could do, but they chose to take the route they have.
Im not bitter about anything, just doing what I think is right.0 -
I agree that the fraud is wrong. I also agree that we shouldn't really put our concern where it isn't needed.
but OP if you felt the need to shop them well so be it. . . . I personally couldn't do something like that and look the person in the eye ever again whether I liked them or not. I'd rather do something to help someone .. guess in this case you helped the benefit investigation team! :rotfl:0 -

You're not being bitter,I agree, you're just not a selfish person lacking in morals who thinks that everyone should be for themselves.
What is it with this country these days?Everyone either thinks nothing is nobodies business and that everyone should be for themselves or they blame other people for things going on with others and wonders why nobody else took responsibility or acted upon something!
No sense of community anymore? Is it any wonder when people don't 'want to get involved'If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -

As would any decent person. You certainly don't come across as bitter.
Ignore those posters who are name calling and trying to put people off reporting benefit thieves; these people often have their own agenda.
What has happened to this board in the last few weeks? The posts are getting worse and it is very sad to see this board descend to this level. Benefit fraud is not ok.RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

Like I said before, just the impression I got. I could be wrong, If I am then sorry....
But why the need to follow it up? You have reported it and it will be dealt with. You have done what you can and don't need to know what the outcome is.0 -

A lot of people wish to know the outcomes of crimes,if they didn't we wouldn't have reports on them in papers would we.Many are more interested in the outcome if they know the people or the case. That doesn't mean they must be bitter.People want to know things are dealt with.If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -
The reason I asked after already using the online form is because I wasnt sure if filling in the form online was likely to be ignored or if it got just the same response as a phone call would.
I would like to thank the people who actually answered my question and were generally supportive of my actions.0 -

I suspect when you call they will fill a form out on there system which goes to the same place online submissions go. That would make sense anyway.....
As for being supportive, I already said I think you did the right thing, just not completely sure of the motivation behind it.0 -
Glenn - like I said before, yes I do know these people, they are nice people just doing the wrong thing, I've tried to help them where I could but it didn't work. The reason I'm reporting them is because I know exactly what they are doing and that they aren't entitled to the money they are claiming, afterall if I didn't know them and been told everything (by them) then I would just be assuming and reporting someone without all the facts which may get someone into trouble for something they haven't done.
No vendettas, I'll be honest I'm not perfect person, I'm not looking for anything out of this, like I said just doing what I think is right.
