    Waterstone's advertise at the end of October. Not sure if that will change with the new owners.

    Thanks! I shall keep an eye out.:)
  • Boots is definitely one to look into, I've applied for 3 of their xmas temp roles in my local area, keep getting rejected but I'm determined! :P

    You can apply for Royal Mail from the 5th September, but you have to do it online just go to royalmail . com

    Royal Mail Xmas temps are pretty much first come first served as long as you can provide a 5 year work/education history and have the right to work in the UK.

    Even the 'interview' is basically a series of queues and the only 'test' is to make sure you bring the correct documentation they ask for. Turn up the earliest and you are more likely to get the shifts you want.

    So basically apply on the 5th September and you are fairly certain of getting an Xmas job.

    if you live in the East Midlands Thorntons are advertising right at the moment, recruitment is very much like what the royal mail person described but is good money. I worked at Sainsburys as a temp a few years back - a fab company to work for. And if you live in Leeds the recruitment for the Ice cube will be live on leeds city council website around mid October (sign up to their weekly newsletter!)
    :T:T :beer: :beer::beer::beer: to the lil one :) :beer::beer::beer:
  • Does anyone know if the Disney Store advertise their Xmas temp jobs online, or is it in store only? :think:
  • DD is 16 in November and has just sent off for her NI card, is it likely she will be able to get a Xmas job at all? She is desperate to work and earn her own money! :D
  • For the disney store you take your cv into store.
    £844/£22,774.31 debt to pay :eek:
    £21,930.31 left to pay!:(

    A Xmas Job can Lead To a Permanent Job!!
    I suspect in very few circumstances, yes. Most of the time I'm sure it's just a ruse to get you to work your butt off for minimum wage, until the day they have to let you go.

    Have seen in someone's signature here "minimum wage, minimum effort" - thing is employers know they can get away with paying minimum wage, while demanding more than maximum effort.

    Far better to be in work and be able to prove ability to get to work on time and dedicate yourself to an employer though, and have something on your CV than a big gap. It's often easier to get a job if you recently had one or already have one. May as well use it to your advantage.
    Wanted a job, now have one. :beer:
