carhire3000.com

hi there - has any one used carhire3000.com to book a car hire in the US and are they ok/good?

They have a car hire rate over £60 cheaper than anywhere else and I am just worried it might be too good to be true and I should just go with Hertz?

thanks
Allie

I've used them with no problems.

Just make sure you are comparing like with like as far as insurance, etc, goes.

The car will be from a major company like Budget or Alamo
  • I have hired a car everytime we go over to Florida. The last three times I have used Carhire 3000 and can definately recommend them. Money has gone out of my account when they said it would and recieved my vouchers by email promptly afterwards.

Everytime I have used them the cars have been Dollar (I take the fully inclusive option). The only thing that is extra is the breakdown cover that dollar try to flog you but you can always say no.

I have in the past used Floridacarhire.com as they were always the cheapest but over the last few years they have become more expensive and their headline prices dont include credit card charges etc.

I've used them three times now, although not in the USA, and can only recommend them. Great price each time and when I had to cancel one reservation there was no hassle at all.

always use them, never a complaint. If prices go down after you book, they will refund you the difference if you ask.

but we always pay in full up front - not sure if they have changed their T&Cs - but if you only pay a deposit, you lose the deposit if you cancel...if you pay in full and cancel, you get it all back. Again, they may have changed this since last time I checked - but we like to pay as much up front as we can anyway...so depressing to pay for a holiday after it's done. :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Yes used them, without a problem. I ended up with Alamo. As common with most rental agencies they will ask if you want to upgrade or add extra insurance.
  • I had the upgrade invitation ,turned down to find i was free upgraded as they had never ever had any compact cars at LA international ,so say no and get a free up grade most likely a toyota 1.8 sedan :)

Used four times and never had a problem. Very helpful UK call centre as well. USA booking will come with all insurance ( well the certainly used to). Call them up if you need to clarify.

Be careful using them in Spain though, I have heard they may use Goldcar for some bookings who you want to stay well clear of.
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:
  • I have just used Carhire 3000 for a long weekend in Mallorca and while I was happy with their service at booking and with the quality/cleanliness of the car, I am extremely unhappy that upon coming home I have been charged a further £108 (the original price was only £72). Having complained (and been told they would address my complaint within 28 days!!), they told me I have been charged EUR 80 for a tank of fuel which is outrageous given it was a 1.1 engine car, and a further EUR 30 for an insurance that I did not want and was never pointed out to me but apparently was included in the contract I was given at the rental desk and a further EUR 8 for a diesel car which I also had never requested!! I am extremely annoyed and feel well and truly had over. I will never be using Carhire 3000 again, who I hold responsible for their agents' deceitful practices.

Used them before in the US and never any trouble but they were more expensive than Dollar direct for Las Vegas this year so booked direct.

  • I've used them numerous times without any issue - in fact I have two upcoming bookings with them now.

Last Christmas my flights were cancelled due to snow in New York - Carhire 3000 had to make 4 different changes for my booking and they were efficient and helpful. In fact as my trip ended up being 2 days shorter they provided a refund for the 2 days I didn't have the car. That was unexpected given that it was me making the changes on the supposed day of travel.

I think for people to whine that CarHire3000 are responsible for charges which they simply don't like but are detailed in the contract is utterly pathetic. Grow a pair and take some responsibility for your own actions for a change.
