    Afternoon all,

Collected DGS2 early as there is a staff meeting in school, nice day but a bit chilly....getting used to it and have only put socks on one day this week and don't think that we will need a fire to-night....OH is being as parsimonious about the timber as if he had paid €1000 per ton for it.

Beth...might be an idea to slow down a bit until it is formally established that you have nothing to worry about....why am I even suggesting that< know what you like!

Candygirl....enjoy the Royal wedding....can DD and her partner not cope on their own on the one weekend you are away? Know its a big event, but not a bad idea to put yourself first this time I think....ok so I am a hard biatch, I help mine as and when they need help if I can, but am their mother, not their slave!

NPM...good to see you in better form, take things as easy as you can over weekend....love Noah's clouds and sun term for egg.

Evie...good luck with the crochet and knitting.

    Essex girl...welcome back.

Ruby...hope that you can sort better care for your dad...am so glad that we were able to have my parents at home until the end, but they had conditions which could be managed at home and were lucky enough to have the constant help of a wonderful nurse...

    Bargainbird...hugs for you to-day.

Bramble....sorry that you and OH argue so much...not good with argument myself so you have my sympathy.

To all I have not mentioned, have a good day and a hug or two, enjoy your weekend and stay safe

  • Just quick post as popping in so haven't read everything (yet). Hugs to all obviously. Been to the GPs today and they tested my BP which is up and so they've started me on meds - for a month. I mean, please, it's "just" up and they're going to review it in a month so what is the point? Drug happy in my surgery. I had gone to inform them of private IVF stuff etc (putting right the mess they made I might add with incorrect results given) and also to see about skin tag removal. Had to wait 10 days for the apt and now have a date for the end of October to have them off (had wanted them off by the end of this month). So it will be 2 months from enquiring to op.....Is it just me or is that pants? Then went for MRI scan (3rd attempt) and this time they did it - yay! But I had a panic attack at the start - typical LOL! Gutted on the way back as popped into local pet shop to find it's closing tomorrow - carnival day....they've done the shop window up lovely as well in the hope of winning the "best window" prize.....We've had a pet shop in our town for 100 years and tomorrow we lose it. Also assistant said there are another 5 independents ready to go at Christmas if they don't do well...their money has simply run out faster.....So annoyed by this I have written to both Mary Portas and Mr Cameron inviting them up to see our half built precinct (half built, 4 years behind schedule). It's all very well going on the telly spouting about what they're going to do, they can come up here and feel my annoyance LOL! Ooooh I'm annoyed.... and more to the point where I am going to get my budgie stuff from now? Oh yeah, I forgot, one of the 3 supermarkets.......I wonder why our local shops are closing? Hmmmmm Time for action TBQH.....Right I'm off to paint placards and arrange a sit in..... LOL! Enjoy your weekend everyone!
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

Sorry, yes I did mean Lidl. I think Mitchell and Webb did a skit of their brands on their sketch show calling them Didl-de-dee.

Just popping in for a minute as it's been a hectic day. Lovely weather here, very hot and sunny so the washing dried v.quickly and now I just have to iron it.
Busy preparing for the cooking marathon for the Harvest Supper so that will keep me out of mischief for the next few days.
Made a big pot of soup with all the odd bits of veg lying around but it's not really soup weather so I made a tomato sandwich instead.
Love to anyone who would like some.

Kids Dad and I argued terribly in the early years and nearly split up. Now we just have a spat, ignore each other for a while and then make up. We have both mellowed and neither of us are so fiery now x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Hi chums last day of the children's summer holidays and I can't believe how quickly 6 weeks has flown by.We have done so much over the time what with 'crafting' kite-flying, playing french cricket and 'crabbing' at Whitstable.Visited lots of parks in the area and today went to the local Riverside Country park and the boys had not only their choice of ice creams, but a bottle of 'pop' (normally not allowed )and some rubbishy sweets.Took them home by 6.00 p.m. just before Mum got in, and they were all tired out after their busy afternoon 'foraging' for blackberries and a very long walk along the Riverside.Tomorrow I am having some 'grown -up'time as I am going for lunch and dinner to my friends in Dartford whom I haven't seen for around a month or more and we shall spend the day catching up and knitting and generally jawing as we do.The boys are all ready to go back to school now and Jack is looking forward to 'big school' Mikey moves up to the Juniors, and Ben has to see how his first lot of GCSE's went, he did five this year, and has another five to do next year.(the doughnut forgot to get his password so he could get them online whilst he was on holiday )
Henry will be in year 6 and does his 11+ three weeks tomorrow. They are all sprouting up like weeds but they are good lads none the less.Right I'm off to have the other half of my beef ratatuille from yesterday ,probably with a jacket spud.Have a good evening everyone and cheers esmf for the lifesaving crafting book

Very quiet day here today. Took the recycling to the supermarket and did some shopping for school stuff and a bit of food. Made meat and potato pie, failed Yorkshire puddings and finished off the last of the frozen vegetables for tea.
