I feel sorry for T-mobile as Apple's 12 months warranty is a disgrace. 24 months is a norm.

Apple will do a 24 month warranty..... for £69 ;)
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂

First they overprice the rubbish phone.
Then they overprice the warranty. Of course, they have to overprice it because the phone is likely to fail. Apple's marketing ploy.

SquareTrade 3-Year Warranty Plus Accident Protection (£450-500 Items) costs £49.

It's a mystery why the crowds keep buying the shiny overpriced rubbish that Apple produce.

Personal opinion but to me the iPhone is the most user friendly phone out there at the moment.

Yes it cost more but it works beautifully simply. Android may be open and have more bells and whistles that you can potentially play with but to do that you need to mod it and play. The various operators skins on android don't help, it's not consistant.

Apple also have a really simple upgrade process, plug in the phone and you get asked if you want to upgrade, and they also *DO* upgrades not as some phone makers do shovel the phone out the door and forget it. They also don't allow the operators to brand them so I don't have to deal with junk like the Vodafone live / 360 branding I had on my lst smartphone, that to be honest was a waste of space, but you could not delete it without flashing the ROM.

However the flip side is for that consistant design and UI you have to have everything apple approved, so it's not open.

Oh and yes it's shiny :D

The phone had a 12 months warranty and it's now beyond that, any fault remedy that the retailer (not the maker your contract is always with the retailer) is unwilling to resolve now would have to go via the courts

If you want concrete advice see a solicitor or go to court, we can debate it all day but the judges say is final.

With the best will in the world although we've seen a lot of these problems before if you want a legal option then qualified legal advice doesn't generally come free.

Did you try the Genius bar option, they do sometimes fix out of warranty phones for free?

Yes i understand that but this is what i came on the forum for, help off members.

Yes second time i went in was to query how long an iphone should last in apples opinion. The first visit i was told out of warranty and nothing they could do.

Does making an appointment make any difference?

Whats the next step with T-Mobile- write to head office and explain the complaint and give them 14 days to reply?

Re;small claims court,i have been before and was found to be right but this was against a "one man band" not a big company.

Thanks for everyones comments so far

    Can so but no guarantee's

No I don't know why either...

Next step is a letter before action but before you do consider the costs, if you lose you don't pay the defendants fee's but you do pay your costs, is it worth the hassle when it can be repaired for £40 You may be paying that in fee's.

Chances are it won't get to courtand any fee's you pay you will get back but it's worth considering the costs now.

How long would i give them?
Do i explain ill want reimbursing for my time/cost incurred?
Do you think i should say what i want to stop the court proceedings?

I don't think that you have to quote everything, but it is worth reminding them the whole story or correspondence with t-mobile.
How long would i give them?
I think its 14-20 days usually.
Do i explain ill want reimbursing for my time/cost incurred?
It's up to you, but you have to give them some figure.
Do you think i should say what i want to stop the court proceedings?
I think this is the point of the LBA.
What address and who should i send it to?
To the person/address that you received the last reply from?

Where would i find the part about "reasonable time"
I think this is the point of the LBA.
Yes your right! That was a stupid question!!!

Ill say that i want the phone repairing at no cost to me
It's up to you, but you have to give them some figure.
Are there any "usual figures" eg £10 for every 1 hr spent dealing with it. Etc etc
To the person/address that you received the last reply from?
Previous correspondance was via email. Is it worth addressing to the CEO or who? What address would people recommend?

    Grumbler- thanks for this.
