Thanks susiecm3, I don't do enough with my page really.
Thank you MaggieBaking for the pic, how do you do that??
I covered my Ball in tissue paper but as I carry it around to show i have noticed it is slipping a bit. I just used a Gluegun to stick these sweets on with as they are paper covered it doesn't matter. I do want to try a flying saucer on but don't really know where to start lol I cant see how cocktail sticks would work. Thought I might try coating the ball in melted chocolate and using it to stick the sweets on as they are light. If I do get round to having a go will let you know how it goes :-)Would love to earn an extra £40 a Week. Trying to find ways to :-)0 -
Right-click on the picture you want to share once it's on the internet somewhere and then click on "copy image url". When you are writing your post, above the text box you will see a few options... You will see the letters B, I, U.. Large A... Then an earth, and then what looks like a postcard? (A square with mountains in)
Click on the mountains and it will have a pop up box that says "Please enter the URL of your image" and in the text box, right click again and choose the option for "paste".
Then click post reply and hopefully it will be there.
If that makes any sense? Instructions like this always make it sound far more complicated than it really is!0 -

I saw one with licorice catherine wheels ans another with sugared almonds. The sugared almonds one was made by adding a dab of glue to each sweet!!! Don't think my Dad would be pleased with that. And one with haribo. any ideas on a more eater friendly was to attach these type of sweeties?
Royal icing...a mixture of icing sugar and egg white to a stiff consistency-or the easiest way to secure is to use polysteyrene shapes (better than oasis which "defluffs") and secure with cocktail sticks...same for marshmallows.0 -
I had a brainwave in our local 99p shop today when I went to pick up some bird food, walking past the Xmas decs I noticed a pack of two large mirror balls, had a closer look, and they were polystyrene bases, these balls are approx 9 or 10 cms in diameter, I bought a pack and the mirror squares come off really easily, in fact I just had brainwave no 2 and I will be going back to get a couple more in different colours, then the glass squares can be used for crafting!
So if anyone is looking for bases for your creations you know where to go!0 -
I've just seen some great sweet trees on Achica, whilst I'm not suggesting anyone should actually buy one, as they are not very MSE at all  thought I'd post the link for anyone in need of inspiration - when you zoom in on them they actually look quite easy, all just speared with a cocktail stick into a polystyrene ball.
I think I might attempt the marshmallow one for dd, but pretty it up a bit by using pink ones too, and coloured buttons. Hopefully I shall have more success with this than with the sock monkeys I have been intending to make for Crimbo, which so far remain just socks with no hint of monkeyness :rotfl:0 -
I've made a few more Tree's and given them to my Friends :-)
Yay Photo worked.
This one I just glued the Ferrero Rocher on but did have to re glue some of the Sweets to the Wrappers as they wern't very secure.
Just glued the sweets to the Ball.
This is my Favourite, I covered the ball in melted Chocolate and as it dried stuck the maltesers to it.
Very pleased with my results :-)Would love to earn an extra £40 a Week. Trying to find ways to :-)0 -
