Hi all, newbie here so be nice :)

I dont fully get what all this is about, I understand that there are glitches or just ridiculous discounts at Tescos on certain products, but it is the scanning bit that im not sure about.

By 'Scanning' do you mean that you take the product to the self scan checkout to check the price?

Im in the process of buying my first home so need to get some electricals such as an iron, hoover new tv etc so this would be really beneficial for me.

    Thanks

Hi Fatb, welcome to MSE :)

Yes, by scanning people mean taking them to either the self-service check-out to scan or to a till to ask for a price check. I have done both and just cancelled the items that weren't reduced without any problems (the self-service one did require a SA to authorise as it was a tagged item, but she was very nice and there were no problems).

Didn't get using a self-service scanner that lurk in some stores but I saw someone comment earlier that they had got some discounts that had shown up when they went to the actual check out but not shown up when using the little scanners in the store, but I think others have had success with them, so I don't know.

Hope all that makes sense to you. Good luck in finding some bargains and in furnishing your new house.

Wasn't me with the special K bars (I must have missed that offer - is it a good one??)
They had one box of VO5 hair straighteners left. I had a look at the health/hair care section but couldn't see anything cheap. I can't find any scanner in the store so haven't scanned anything. Toys have been absolutely rubbish - nothing like what others have been posting. In fact the seasonal/reduced aisle is now mainly Xmas stuff. On the toy aisles I couldn't see anything reduced. I did get Zhu Zhu armour for 80p at the weekend. However I have changed my mind on this - would you be interested in it before I charity bag it (not worth taking back for 80p)?

I did see letchworth Sainsburys had loads of these : http://www.sainsburys.co.uk/sol/shop/appliances/personal_care/120

I would love the zhu zhu armour please. Managed to snaffle a zhu zhu hamster for £3 in boots a few weeks back, and have actually been looking for armour! It's nice to see a fellow MSEr about too. The special k bars were 44p a pack a few weeks back, but bald0ck had empty shelves everytime :rotfl: kept looking in peoples trolleys to see who else goes on MSE! On a side note the toys were a bit pants, I went in a couPle of times to price check toy story bike, but never was reduced, then one day they were all gone lol typical!!
