  • I really can't get to grips with searching for my Tesco as I don't understand all the codes for the shop names, could anyone send me a run down of the ones from Scotland? also does anyone know why this pricing is happening?

  • I've been in to my local at n3w osc0tt a few times but never found any of these bargains :-( Has anyone else had any luck at this store. Also I have never managed to find a price scanner there despite visiting the store 2 or 3 times a week - anyone know if there is one lurking anywhere?
  • Well, dragged other OH to Carrick branch this morning and there are probably pictures of us in the staff room with ''seriously shifty' written underneath by now.Price checked just about every electrical item under the sun, nothing worked for irons, food processors (although there were empty shelves for one of the Kenwood processors and a Russell Hobbs iron so hopefully someone got lucky) Hairstraightners and mens electric razors full price also but managed a Be beautiful Professional Curling Tong for £2:50 and a Babyliss mens head shaver dodah for £2.04. I was really in the market for boys toys but no Paper Jams, General Grievious light sabres, KiddyZoom cameras at all. :( Wandered around to where they had a few Black and Decker tools and just by chance this aisle had a price checker and a hand electric screwdriver (pivot 180)SEL of £25 rang up at £6 and a proper cordless drill Was scanning at £14 with an SEL of £50. By this stage, a pleasant member of staff in shirt and tie wandered around and chatted to us and scanned the Black and Decker stuff too then went and made quite a few long phone calls...... And there were plate sets I wanted to scan too but I thought I was seriously attracting attention by this stage! Finally got to the till about 2 hours later and the nice checkout lady saw our bargains and got a member of staff to run around and get her some. HTH someone, any more Norn Iron MSE'Rs out there with any luck on the toy front?

  • Went into Hull store again early this morning. Scanned loads of items but no luck :(

Spoke to the guy in pc section and asked him to check price of Dell 1545 and he said if it scanned at £149 it would be taken off sale. He said the manager at Hull had a policy that anything scanning low would be taken off sale!! I said that was crazy and why just our store when other cities were getting loads of bargains and he just shrugged. He said there were loads of laptops in the back off sale, several different makes/models and even staff were not allowed to have them. He also said there had been major problems with prices and items were being sold at incorrect prices. But with the big price war this week with Asda they are concentrating on that!! Presumably when they have their system sorted out these items will go on sale but goodness knows if they will be that cheap again. I was a bit gutted but at least he didn't just fob me off with pretending he knew nothing about them!

Ah well got some teething toys for 9p and a dented light shade for £2 and 10 packets of pasta so not a total wasted trip :)

Didn't buy them myself but there were a couple of single pink metal beds at under a tenner, some DIY workbenches for under £4 and some cracking metal scooters for girls for around £4 that were £40 on Direct.
