been to shre*sbury store today, loads in their clearance isle but all priced up at hgher prices than one here, the scaner does not work in the store and i cannot bring myself to take them to the self scan till would feel embarrased if I had to make up an excuse

No embarrassment allowed when it comes to a bargain, the only requirement is a thick skin;)
    Beware!!!! Glitching is addictive:rotfl:

I officially give up. I have a rubbish tesco. Scanned a few things everything was still full price and it wasn't worth the embarrassment walking up and down!!

I wouldn't worry about feeling embarrassed. All the stores know what's going on and are probably used to 100 people coming up and asking them to scan stuff. It's really the only way you'll find any bargains. They simply can't keep up with all the price changes being sent down to them (was told that there were over 2400 price drops on hard lines sent down over the weekend). If you keep that in mind, you can see why the prices are wrong - Tesco head office keep changing them, and the PI depts can't keep up with them (as they've got their normal job to do as well!).
In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

  • Well, dragged other OH to Carrick branch this morning and there are probably pictures of us in the staff room with ''seriously shifty' written underneath by now.Price checked just about every electrical item under the sun, nothing worked for irons, food processors (although there were empty shelves for one of the Kenwood processors and a Russell Hobbs iron so hopefully someone got lucky) Hairstraightners and mens electric razors full price also but managed a Be beautiful Professional Curling Tong for £2:50 and a Babyliss mens head shaver dodah for £2.04. I was really in the market for boys toys but no Paper Jams, General Grievious light sabres, KiddyZoom cameras at all. :( Wandered around to where they had a few Black and Decker tools and just by chance this aisle had a price checker and a hand electric screwdriver (pivot 180)SEL of £25 rang up at £6 and a proper cordless drill Was scanning at £14 with an SEL of £50. By this stage, a pleasant member of staff in shirt and tie wandered around and chatted to us and scanned the Black and Decker stuff too then went and made quite a few long phone calls...... And there were plate sets I wanted to scan too but I thought I was seriously attracting attention by this stage! Finally got to the till about 2 hours later and the nice checkout lady saw our bargains and got a member of staff to run around and get her some. HTH someone, any more Norn Iron MSE'Rs out there with any luck on the toy front?

Hi, could you please tell me the model number or barcode for the babyliss mens head shaver

    many thanks
  • LOL :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: OOOhhhhh, I wish I had a thick skin....had a pile of things in my trolley, no scanners, asked for a price check on one item, some straighteners listed on here and they went through at stated price. I really didnt fancy showing myself up asking for everything removed if they came up at ticketed price when going through self service. Did manage to get the Thomas sodo set as the SEL was £3 and a 30p paddling pool so pleased I came out with something. Wish Id taken a list tho, couldnt remember everything Id read on here. Im new to this so next time gonna take a list. Would be sooo much easier if there had been a scanner.
  • finally got a bargain that i really actually wanted! bought a belkin tunecast auto universal with clearscan for £3. They sell elsewhere for £20 - £30. Also bought a Technika 7" digital photo frame but realised when I left that I dont actually need it! I will take it back tomorrow. Had a look at ebay seller takymydeals, he/she has barely sold a thing! haha! After paypal, ebay and postage fees they wont make alot from it.
