I love when September comes round as its an excuse to cook gorgeous comfort food. Next 7 meals will be........but not sure in what order:
HM chicken curry with rice and poppadums
Smoked fish chowder
Chilli topped with nachos and cheese
HM pea and ham soup with crusty bread
Lamb and barley stew
HM oven chips and fried eggs
Stewed steak with peas, carros and dumplings
some of these are already cooked and in the freezer but the fish chowder and egg and chips I will do when I get in from work
Happy plannning one and all :beer:0 -

Thanks for starting us off, poppy-glos.
My plan for last week didn't really get followed at all: I must do better this week!
Friday - lazy evening - probably a RM pizza
Saturday - out for a family get-together
Sunday - venison casserole with potato gnocchi and veg
Monday to Thursday -
sheep's cheese and chard fritatta
chilli con carne burritos
roast pork and squash Thai noodles
chicken quesadilla and salad
It's a bit heavy on the red meat this week but it's all stuff from the freezer so it won't cost me anything.
Have a good week, everyone.Back after a very long break!0 -

Hi all, just a quick one - I have searched I promise... and I mostly come looking for CCP or anyone who can cook OS-y
.
I've roasted a chicken and I want to include rissoles in my meal plan - anyone know how to make them?
I heard a recipe which is like a spanish thing called croquetas (basically thick white sauce with stuff in) but I can't find it. I'll google it as well but if an OS-er has a failsafe, I'd love to hear it as I can sort of guarantee quality and cost effectiveness."We always find something, hey Didi, to give us the impression we exist?" how about this one .. http://www.cottagesmallholder.com/easy-recipe-for-rissoles-%E2%80%93-best-left-over-sunday-joint-recipes-7083 i haven't done it myself but all cottage smallholder recipes i've done before have worked well. good luck
edit: having read your post more thoroughly and the recipe, how about making some breadcrumb (grating old bread or puttingin food processor with blades), then making all in one sauce (1oz butter/spread, 1 oz flour (any), 150ml milk, salt and pepper , heat all together in saucepan and mix with balloon whisk over heat until thick and smooth, if too thick add more milk or stock but i suggested 150 to start with as the sauce needs to bind and not be too runny, then mix in the diced/processed chicken, onion, and whatever else going in, then make into sausages and roll in egg then in breadcrumbs..
