The only good thing about the touch screen is that it claims it can identify a touch that is a mistake. Any touch screen can be used without a stylus. But when it comes out, it'll be more expensive than the equal or perhaps better competition but it won't stop people buying it.formerly mrmilo690

Well that's done it for me. I've no interest in going backwards.Education is compulsory, school is not.

It could end up being called something else yet.
Apparently Cisco own the trademark to the name iPhone and have done since 2000.
You would think a big company like Apple would do a simple search for a trademark before announcing to the world their products new name.

Not really though. Firstly there's no "click" which is hugely important feedback when using a device. It's a way of knowing you pressed the button, and something you can know with or without looking at the screen.
The click wheel is one simple clockwise/anti-clockwise motion. A full touch screen will be a lot more complex to use.
I personally find it quite a gimic. Touch screens are a new and cool technology, but in terms of usability, buttons provide so much more. Both obviously have their pro's and con's, but I just can't see a touch screen being practical.kai666 wrote:what does it do, that phones can't do now.....

Lol, spot on.
- Plus you'll have to use iTunes to update it (there won't be any alternatives yet). Personally I don't like iTunes, bloated, and non customizable.
- You'll be locked to the typical file formats, ie Mp3 and AAC. What about supporting other formats especially the open source ones like FLAC and Ogg Vorbis.
- It may do 3 things in one device (video, audio, phone) but can the battery cope with such use. Given the battery specs, you'll have to be charging it fairly often if you use it to its full potential.
- How scratch resistant will it really be? Especially if you're touching the screen all the time. Apple don't exactly have the best reputation for their products being scratch proof."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0
