Really glad things are sorted for your BF and my apologies for not getting back to you last night (crisis at Hovel Towers).

Good luck with your plan to be debt free by 26 :T
  • Thanks :)

I'm working on my budget now. If it all goes right I will have most of my debts cleared by the Oct/Nov and then work on getting the overdraft done in January. After January the rest of my money will go towards the credit card and get that done and dusted :)
    DEBT TOTAL: £7609.44
  • I'm also putting some money aside each month ready for xmas presents :) Then after that I'll be putting money away to move out :)
    DEBT TOTAL: £7609.44
  • I've just been doing some math and I can be debt free by the end of July and have £2,151 saved up although some of that will be spent on Xmas pressies. After that I have a spare £400 each month to go towards rent etc on a place for me and the OH. Course by then I'll be so financial savvy everything will be done so that I keep putting money away when paying rent and bills!

  • I'm also planning on budgeting for xmas next year :) i've worked out roughly how much we spend and am going to try and save it each month into a savings account. Will also be doing this for car insurance, car tax, and anything else i can think of, it's quite nice finally being in control of your own money ;)

  • I know exactly what you mean. I just like the prospects of being debt free by July if I stick to my budget. Obv I have birthdays etc in between but that will come out of my savings that I put away. I'm having lots of NSDs - I just haven't been updating my sig because I haven't had time. Friday 23rd can't get here quick enough - I'll be getting rid of my first lot of debt then :)

  • So I spoke to the boyf and he's quite old fashioned so unless we save up equal amounts of money or he can put more in we won't be moving in together after my last debt payment in July lol. He's the traditional I'm supporting us and you can just put a little bit towards it guy. He doesn't want us to just "get by" he wants us to be able to live comfortably. But hopefully by the time we've saved up equal amounts we'll be able to afford a place where I can have a little jewellery making room to get the business running better without working from my bedroom lol!

So one debt will be reduced by £20 tomorrow, 3 debts will be totally cleared on 23rd and 2 will be reduced on the same day. Things are starting to look up.

  • Thanks for the subscription Squidge, returned the favour :)

Good luck with your journey - I pray for the day my debts are reduced to £5000!

Feel free to drop me a note regarding your website - I am a professional developer and might be able to give you a few hints & tips (for free of course, DFW!)
    I was a DFW, now I'm a MFW :T

Thanks. I haven't been around much lately but thats because I've been busy working hard to get those pennies to become Debt Free.

I have the web address and I had the hosting. It ran out at the beginning of the month but I'm not getting very much traffic at the moment to the site and that makes me think that paying another £20 for hosting on a site that doesn't receive much traffic at the moment isn't very feasible. When business picks up of course I won't mind paying for the hosting.

  • Ok so I've decided to post my life goals on here. There are 2 major ones..

    1) To be debt free before I turn 26 which is a year away.
    2) Once I'm debt free to properly work on my business because I'll have the financial ablity to be able to put more into it. So I want to then have an online presence with my business that I can then progress into being into my own shop etc. Which obviously I'll need to save for :)
