I'm 25 on Thursday. 25 and with just over £5000 debt. My bro just asked me what I want for my birthday and I haven't got a clue.
So on Friday when I claim back expenses I'm going to get rid of the £40 debt to a friend and reduce one of the family member debts - from £270 to £250. That will knock £60 off of my debt. Then on payday I will pay some more to the family member and pay off the £110 to the other family member and the loan. That means that in 2 weeks my debt will be reduced by £615 and then some more will be paid on my card and the overdraft. That will make me feel happier about where I am in life.DEBT TOTAL: £7609.440 -

You said you like books, could you ask your brother for a gift card for a book store.
Well done you are making great headway with you debt figure. Once you have a few months under your belt you will start to see your DFD on the horizon. BTW, best of luck with the Jewellery business.0 -
Thanks Dell.
Thing is if he gets me a gift card for a book store its another lot of books to add to my pile to get reading lol. Although I do like that idea.
I'm aiming to be debt free be 2013! I know that only gives me a year and a bit to be debt free but its a challenge I'll gladly take. In 2 weeks 3 of those debts will be gone from my sig completely. After friday any further expenses I collect (and I'll be collecting 4 lots a month for 3-4 months) will go into a seperate account and will be my car fund. That way I will get some money saved up by March when my tax and mot is due.
Ideally I'd like to be debt free by Xmas 2012 but I can't see that one happening anytime soon lol.DEBT TOTAL: £7609.440 -
Today is an NSD as I'm off sick from work. Means my expenses won't be as much because I'm missing out on a journey which means that on Friday I won't be paying off as much as I can.
Can anyone recommend any good banks that I can put my expenses into as a car fund?DEBT TOTAL: £7609.440 -
Hope you feel better very soon xx
Not sure about the banks - might be worth asking on the "Savings and investments" board.0 -
Thanks HL. I'm working on catching up with my apprenticeship work at the moment. Didn't realise just how much I have to do! I still need to carry on working on my website. The only problem is finding a site that I like the look of. I have the domain name and I can design my own site. I just need somewhere to host it.DEBT TOTAL: £7609.440

I can design basic sites in HTML. My paid hosting has run out but to be honest with you I'm not making too much money online - I use the site as a word of mouth and do most of my business in person. I might just even move it completely to Facebook and run my business through there.DEBT TOTAL: £7609.440

I had a (very) small business page on fb last year, I sold sock monkeys lol, but there were no fees or anything and word of mouth spread very quickly
so may be a good idea to save you money I know a few friends that have done this too and then opened a website when their businesses had grown big enough x
