3 posts today! I'm going to clearly set out my goals so that starting tomorrow I can come on here and see them whenever I need that extra push! I'm now off of work for two weeks so won't be needing to worry about lunch for work which will save me some money.
Here are my goals for the year ahead:- Take my own lunch to work saving myself between £3 and £5 a day depending on what I eat
- Have as many NSDs as possible.
- Not buy any books or DVDs until I have read all the ones I have in the pile and watched all the DVDs I haven't yet watched.
- Stick to a strict budget. I was allowing myself £25 every week but if I reduce that down to £10 a week that's an extra £60 a month towards the debts.
- Walk as often as I can (except to work across the other side of town) - it will keep me fit and reduce my petrol usage. I have worked out that I can run my car on £20 of petrol a week if I set my mind to it.
- Keep a spending diary every day to make sure I know where my money is. By reviewing this at the end of every week I can cut out any unneccesary spends.
- Any money left over each week will go into the pot for my £12,000 in 2012 challenge.
- Every payday I will do my banking. I will make sure the money for direct debits etc is in the account and take out the money for petrol and weekly spending and seperate these into individual envelopes. That way I won't need to take my card out with me anywhere and won't feel the urge to spend anything extra than I what I have.
- Take part in as many surveys as possible although I keep getting screened out at OnePoll
- Put in as much overtime as physically possible at work. By increasing the amount of money I'm earning I can increase my debt payments
- Try to get some Freelance work. I've bid on 2 jobs but can't see me getting them. One has 40 bids and the other has 114 bids! I have no previous work to show people because I've never freelanced before.. I just need one person to give me a job to help me out!
DEBT TOTAL: £7609.440 -
I didn't have an NSD today but I did buy bits that were actually needed... a few grocery items. I also need to get some petrol.
I'm have a diary that I can use to write down the exact amount I spend each dayDEBT TOTAL: £7609.440 -
You sound like me. I've just started a spending diary. I want to try to find out what I spend/waste money on.
I had to buy petrol also and fond it difficult to find somewhere open selling petrol. Got a bit desperate as the petrol light came on.
Let's have a good year together obliterating our debts.June 16 Mortgage Amount £82,896.15
Official mortgage end date August 2027

This is a really inspirational list of goals. I do all of my banking on payday as well and I have a separate account in which all of my bills are paid from.
I have a spending diary as well. I have found that it has really helped me to cut my spending over the years - it can be a real eye opener!0 -
11 days till payday. I'm babysitting today so won't be spending much money. I can't wait for payday to hurry up and get here.DEBT TOTAL: £7609.440

I've been watching Extreme Couponing. It's absolutely awesome and is making me consider it myself. If only I have somewhere to store stuff so that I could start collecting now ready for when I move out.
I'm going to start looking for coupons online so that I can see if I can get things at a better price for myself, my family and my other half who lives in a shared house.DEBT TOTAL: £7609.440 -
I'm doing a major declutter tomorrow. I've found an old mobile that although it doesn't work I can get £7 for it. That's £7 to the debts there. I'm sure I have another old one lying around.
I have cds that I only like a couple of songs on so once they are on my mp3 player I'm going to sell them for cash. I'm even considering ebaying some handbags even though I am a major bag addict! My thinking is that it's less clutter, more money for debts and less stuff to move for when I eventually move out!DEBT TOTAL: £7609.440 -
How are you going to sell your cds? I downloaded the music magpie app on my iphone and was busy scanning cds and dvds last night - just to see how much they were worth really. I haven't had any dealings with the company though. My old cds and dvds are ten for a penny on ebay0

I'm going to see what they're worth on music magpie and either ebay or send them to music magpieDEBT TOTAL: £7609.440

some of my dvds were only worth 30p! Some of my cds were a bit better though. Have you used Music Magpie before?0
