You quite often notice that the incidence of sky dishes goes up markedly in "poorer" housing too:think:

We used to call it "council telly" :D

Quite, there's always a bit of hard cheese in the corner. :p

Let's not take this thread into the realms of personal hygiene, ok? :shhh:

I'll lend you my car if you like, then you'll know the meaning of shame!

I love having a slightly wrecky car. So much less hassle and worry. And people let you out of junctions out of fear you'll just ram them if they don't.

Stop caring. It's your car ,it gets you to work, it's none of anyone elses business.
If it bothers you that much, at least take some pride in it. Give it a proper polish, wax it, maintain it well, and it'll be a car to be proud of and you'll be sound in the knowledge that you're not making monthly payments on a car that's not really yours.

Once you've worked and saved, you might want to buy a car of your choice as a treat.

Every time you look at your neighbours cars they have lost money on them, where you have lost nothing. :D

from the (doubtlessly) well scrubbed roadway which they no doubt clean every Sunday morning, along with their cars.

    .

my neighbour across the street does this
she sweeps then washes away any remaing dust
only on her side of the road
    she does the pavement too
    on a sunday morning
and its funny cos no one parks there:rotfl:

Clearly you need to borrow a banger with a leaky engine and park it there for a week leaving a lovely oil stain. :rotfl:

Clever blokes never spend money on depreciating assets like cars :D

    Personalised number plates - that's snobbery :)
  • Cycling past Villa Park (football ground in case you don't know) on a matchday a couple of years ago, a Newcastle fan shouted out to me "can't you afford a car?". I was astounded. The roads were closed to motor vehicles anyway. So now even footie fans are snobs!

How to combat the snobbery? With the reasoning and logic that a number of people on this thread have demonstrated.
