No to buying unnecessary toiletries in September!

First OUT for me in September, but it's an unintentional one - I've lost my Clinique High Impact Mascara
It was in my handbag so must have fallen out somewhere, which means I've got to buy a new one to replace it. I am a bit of a mascara junkie so no idea what to get! Will probably just go to Boots/Superdrug and see if there are any good deals on.

Two bits of news tonight - one nice, one not nice.
Nice thing - PLEASE anyone on facebook, will you vote for my friends rabbit>>? Bunny is so gorgeous, and Sarah has had a !!!!! year so far, would be wonderful if she could go top 10... http://apps.facebook.com/supremepetfoods/clickThrough/57413
Not nice thing - Red aborted her foal last night - I found him (obviously she was cooking me exactly what I had told her Id love, it was a colt and he had mottled skin which suggested he was going to be a chestnut roan going grey as he aged....) in the field this morning. Shes ok though very sad - but Ive still got her, and thats WAY more important than anything else. So no fairy godmother positions for you lot next January - but maybe Jan 2013...0 -
went on a groupon meal last night for £20 for a 5 course taster worth (so they said!)£50...no way would I have paid that...it was nice enough but when we looked at the normal menu we figured we could have had a proper 3 courses for about £30 instead we had the chefs choice(all diners got the same unless they said there was something they did not eat)
1/ a cup of beetroot soup with a couple of veg in
2/1 sardine on couscous
3/1 duck rillette
4/1 piece of pork cheek and 1 of ox cheek on cabbage
5/plum fool
no way could the food have cost more than £10 max as all cheap things except the duck.would have felt cheated if paid £50 as most of the other dinners did!...this was a place that won a Gordan Ramsey competition!!!!but looked just like a countyr pub with ideas above its station to me!!!
I know it is nothing to do with toiletries but felt worth warning you ladies as things not always as good as they sound..lioke the latest in beauty box!
I have also booked a night away on a similar thing to groupon so hope that will be better!0 -
I've often had my suspicions about those menus Rosemary, what a disappointment for you. Pork cheek is supposed to be a delicacy, but it is a really cheap, cheap delicacy. There is a 400% mark up on food in restaurants, but that looks more like 800% to me, at £50.
Have you been voting for Trudi's friend's Bunny, btw, everyone? I really hope we can make her a winner.
Ok back on topic, finally UU'ed my Norwegian Formula Hand Cream... as foot cream. WIBA?? Well, yes, this is wonderful stuff. However my hands are really well moisturised from applying body lotion, body butter, face /neck moisturiser and foot cream daily! Does anyone else find that they no longer really need hand cream as a result of daily pampering of all the other bits?
Also binned an Olay 3 point serum 7ml size as it had gone 'bitty' when applied, you know the feeling. WIBA? Iirc, this is very expensive, I think I'd had it quite some time so it had gone off. It was lovely when first applied.
We have a good Boyes in our town, which as I have possibly said before, is one of those stores where you find stuff you just don't find anywhere else. (Mason's Dog Oil anyone?) They have a sale on at the moment so I have a Schwarzkopf Palette hair colour in Chestnut as a needed IN - just £2.49- and they also had mini dry shampoos at 2 for £1. Having been disappointed with the Batiste puffer dry shampoo, these were a needed IN.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Oh Trudij what a sad time for Red and you.
I went out shopping with my mother today. I haven't seen her in a bit so it was lovely. I did use my Boots £5 voucher on a 3 for 2 No7 deal and split the cost with mum. So I got 2 of my night creams and my mum is trying out the advanced night cream. So cost to me was £20. I then got another £5 voucher and marched over to get the £7 face wipes for £2.
I have an OUT - L'Oreal Root Lift Mousse which just doesn't work for me.

Morning ladies,
Have finally caught up on your news. Hugs to EH & Trudi.
I have quite a few UUs to declare thanks to hols:
2 hotel shower gels 30ml
4 conditioner sachets, various brands
Vaseline lip therapy, have 3 more in stash!
Rausch fresh body lotion 30ml. WBA - this is a Swiss brand and pretty expensive but a lovely scent and just the consistency I like.
Neal's Yard Powerberry daily moisture 50ml. WNBA. This was a freebie with a magazine & I absolutely hated the smell. Didn't even bother being MSE and getting the dregs out.
No7 Blissful body wash 40ml. Have 3 left, all GWP and didn't like the smell of this either. I'm hard to please!
TBS Mango body butter 50ml. WNBA. Another magazine freebie. Too thick & greasy for my liking, so used as foot cream, nice scent though.
As for the question why we hoard toiletries...? I used to buy a lot of clothes and my warbrobe was at bursting point. If an item has any wear left in it, I find it difficult to part with. With toiletries I kid myself that as they'll get used up, the space will become available again. Hmmm, says she with a big overflow box in the cellar cos I've run out of room in the bathroom........
Went to see Status Quo last night and am at work after 4hrs sleep.

So sorry for you and Red trudi - how awful.
I bought a few things (ahem) from Lush yesterday - half the discon list it seemsI won't apologise for the face mask as it was free with the black pots, and the 2 bubble bars because I don't have many at the moment, but I could have probably done without the several bars of soap
